The Girl With The Dream

Chapter 1

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Megan who loved to sing and dance to her favorite music. This was only when she was alone or just her family or friends were there. She was always afraid to sing in front of an audience and was too terrified to get the solo part of any of her concerts. One day, when she was singing in the auditorium of her school when she thought she was alone something unimaginable happened. Her favorite band, Allstar Weekend, came out of nowhere and started clapping. Megan screamed but quickly got her cool back and asked what they were doing there at her school.

“Were here because one of your friends emailed us and told us all about you and we wanted to see for ourselves what you had in you,” they responded.

Megan quickly asked, “Who emailed you guys and how did you ever get the time out of your busy schedule to read one email from fans when you’re on tour?”

“We were just searching through our emails while we were on our tour bus and we came across an email with the subject “The girl with the dream” and we were curious so we read it.”

“Which one of my friends emailed you?”

“We were told not to tell you, sorry”

“Oh that’s okay. I just can’t believe you’re here! … But wait, you’re supposed to be on your world tour right now. What happened?”

“There was a bad storm that stopped us from going to our last place we were supposed to play so we decided to come see you.”

“Thanks!”

“Anytime. So do you want to show us what you’re capable of?”

“Ummm… Right now?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay...”

Megan hesitated for a while but then got a song ready to sing. The beat for ‘Here With You’ by Allstar Weekend started and Megan became very nervous, but she pulled through and started to sing…

“You were my favorite poster. Hanging on my wall and just like a rollercoaster you kept me waiting for a fall…”

When the song was over, the members of Allstar Weekend began clapping and chanting. Then, all of a sudden Megan heard clapping from a different direction and a huge group of students that went to her school came into the doors and started chanting,

“Encore! Encore!”

Megan blushed then said,

“Were you guys there the whole time?”

The group of students nodded their heads.

“Did you guys really like it?”

The group yelled all at once,

“Yeah!!”

Megan blushed again.

“Want me to sing more?”

The crowd sat down, Allstar Weekend sat in the front row, and they all started chanting. Megan took that as a yes and got another song by Allstar Weekend set up to sing. This song was called ‘Journey To The End Of My Life.’ Megan started singing…

“Every night I go to bed and take a trip inside my head and I wonder exactly what my purpose is and do I live to see 100? Am I rich or am I poor? What’s the score? I don’t wanna be surprised. I wanna take a journey to the end of my life….”

Song after song, Megan realized it wasn’t hard at all to sing in front of a huge crowd. After everyone left, just Megan and the members of Allstar Weekend were there. They helped Megan clean up and while they helped her Megan saw them whispering with each other about something. She couldn’t exactly make out what they were saying but she saw them nodding and smiling so she started smiling because she thought they were talking about her singing.
