Chapter 5

It was a weekend when eighteen year old Megan went over to Amanda's house and was talking to her about what she was going to do the week after that.

"You'll never believe what I'm doing next weekend!" Megan said.

"What?" Amanda said focusing on the TV.

"I'm going to a children's hospital to sing for the little kids with cancer! I'm so stoked!" Megan told Amanda.

Amanda took her attention off the TV and looked at Megan.

"That's awesome! They're going to love that!"

"I know. The best thing ever is knowing people love my music and even if they don't, I know I'm doing something good," Megan said smiling.

"You sure are," Amanda said, "Can I come?"

"Yeah! That's an awesome idea!" Megan yelled.

"I'll go ask my mom right now!" Amanda said excitedly.

Amanda and Megan walked up to Amanda's mom and Amanda began.

"Mom, Megan is going to a children's hospital next weekend to sing for the little kids and I was wondering, can I go with her?"

"It won't be too long," Megan added in, "It will maybe take one or two hours at the most."

"And," Amanda said, "this week is the last week of school and Megan is leaving this summer to go on tour with Cody, so I wanted to do something really fun with her before she left."

"Sure, you can go," Amanda's mom said smiling at Amanda.

Amanda and Megan jumped up and down and Amanda gave her mom a hug.

The next day was Monday and Megan got up, got ready, and went to school she met up with Amanda and her other friends and Cody and her and Amanda told them all about what they were doing. A couple of her friends including Cody asked if they could go and Megan said if it was okay with their parents, they could go. When the day ended, Megan reminded them all to ask their parents if they could go to the children's hospital.

The next day they all met up and it turns out they all could go!

They were all very stoked.

The week went by fast and when the day came to go to the hospital they all got ready and Megan got her guitar and had to have help from Cody carrying the keyboard out to his car.

When they arrived at the hospital they walked i and to Megan's surprise they all screamed with excitement to see Megan and everybody else. Megan gave the kids a hug and signed some papers for them.

She got her stuff ready to sing and all the little kids sat down and had their full attention on Megan.

She sang five of her songs and after everyone the little kids all clapped. When Megan was done she huddled everyone in a circle and told them about her awesome plan she had just thought of.

"I'm thinking about having a benefit for this hospital because these kids were amazing!" Megan whispered.

"That's so sweet," Cody said.

Megan smiled at him and he gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"That is an awesome idea," her friend Elizabeth said.

They all got out of their huddle and Megan went up to the owner.

"Hello, I really enjoyed playing for all these amazing kids," Megan told her.

"Thank you so much for doing it!" The owner said.

"No problem. Also, I have some really good news for everyone but I would like to tell the kids too," Megan said.

"Okay," the owner said with a smile.

Megan went to the front of the room and got everyone's attention. She said, "Hello, everybody. I have some super good news for you all."

They all looked confused so Megan said, "I'm going to go on tour and the first place that I go to, I will send all the money that is spent on tickets to here to help you guys!"

They all screamed and ran up to Megan and gave her a group hug. She gladly hugged them back and went home. She told her parents about her plan and they thought it was amazing.

When she left to go on tour with Cody, she told her manager the plan. He also loved it! Megan also told the members of Allstar Weekend her plan. She was stoked that everyone liked her plan.

Allstar Weekend also got in on the plan. They loved it so much that they told Megan that the first venue they went to, they would send that money to the children's foundation Megan went to also.

Megan hugged them and told Cody, who was in his room at that time, what they said. He thought it was so thoughtful of them to do that. So when they left to go to their first venue Megan told the full house that she had, what their money that they payed for their tickets was going to. The cheered.

"We earned a total of 506,258 dollars!" Megan said to her audience. They cheered again. After the concert, Megan went to her room and so did Cody. They watched TV for an hour then fell asleep. When they woke up they watched some more TV and then went to Allstar Weekend room and asked them if they wanted to go get breakfast. They agreed, got ready, and headed out. When they got their, Megan and Cody saw a picture of them in the front of the restaurant and Megan was stoked to see it. Cody was also stoked to see the poster. When Zach, Cameron, Michael, Nathan, Megan, and Cody walked into the restaurant, a lot of people cheered. They all waved at them all and even signed some CD's then they went to order their food. After they were done eating, they went back to the hotel. Megan talked to Cody and the other guys about the money they raised for the children's hospital and how happy she was that she raised so much money for them. She also called her friends and family and told them about it. They already knew though because they watched it on TV and read about it in the news.

About two months later, Megan's tour was almost over. She was still so proud of how much money she raised for them and she was ready to go to the children's hospital to bring the huge check in and see the looks on all their faces.

Megan and Cody said good bye to Allstar Weekend and were on their tour bus and on their way home. Megan was sad to leave but happy at the same time because she wanted to give them the check so bad. When they got to their homes, they unpacked and went to the hospital with the check. The check took up the whole back seat. Megan was on the phone with her friends telling them they were on their way to give them the check. When they got there, they went in with the check, rang the bell and when the owner came out, Megan yelled, "surprise!"

The owner was so stoke to see the check and the number of money on it. She got the children and they all ran out and saw the check. They screamed and ran up to Megan and Cody. They gave the owner the check and Megan and Cody got a picture with all the kids to take home with them. They each got one and they both framed them. Megan and Cody gave all their friends and family a hug. They had so much fun on that tour and hope to have another benefit soon.
