I caught up to the Tokyo Revengers manga last night and I'm feeling so many emotions- so to cope, you get this<3
Info/Warning(s):
manga spoilers - chapter 224: Cutthroat, (mentioned) character death, depression---
Mitsuya had been locked in his room for days, doing nothing but sew, sew, sew- he hadn't slept, nor had he eaten, the only thing he'd put in his system was water, shown by half empty glasses that littered his floor and shelves. Since the death of his Twin Dragon, depression has swallowed him whole, drowning him in dark waves that suffocated his mind- all he felt was numbness.
Then Takemichi came to him, asked Mitsuya to join his new era of Toman.
He wasn't going to. Mitsuya hadn't planned on joining Takemichi and the others at first, too deep in his depression to properly register his words. But that night, that night Mitsuya looked in the mirror for the first time since Ryūguji Ken's death; Mitsuya saw himself from all those years ago, after first meeting Draken, after getting his dragon mural tattooed onto his skull, after seeing Draken had done the same (he also saw the first time Ken kissed him, saw Ken's gentle smile after Takashi first said "I love you").
Tears flood Mitsuya's eyes- he didn't cry when first told, too wrapped up in his depression- and they fall, quick to wet his cheeks and burn like acid against his pale skin.
(Tomorrow, he decides, tomorrow I'll wear our dragon with pride.)
Mitsuya sleeps for the first time in days.
The next morning, Mitsuya Takashi walks into Sendō Atsushi's barber shop; when he walks out, the dragon shines for the first time in years.
Takashi swears he sees Ken in front of him (swears he can feel Ken's lips on his again for the first time, swears he can hear Ken saying "I love you" back to him for the first time).
