The next day, after waving goodbye to Mom and petting and kissing Ozzy on the forehead, I went to the living room. Dad was at work, so I had a few hours to myself. I got the remote and turned on (F/T/S). I just could get enough of it. The characters... the plot line... absolute masterpiece. Each episode satisfied me.
I didn't realize how much time had passed when Dad came back home.
"(N/N)! I'm home!"
"In the living room, Da-"
That's when the power suddenly shut off.
"What the f-"
"(Y/N)! Language!" I heard Dad scold me from the darkness. That's when I gasped dramatically.
"NOO! (F/T/S)! IT'S GONE! NOW I'LL NEVER BE COMPLETE EVER AGAI-"
"(Y/N), it's fine. I'm sure it'll be over soon. Now, I'm going to call Wade. You just... sit there and try to maintain your sanity after the temporary loss of (F/T/S)."
After a quick call with his friend and co-worker, I noticed he was being super quiet. I think I even heard small crackling noises.
"Dad, you good?" I asked, getting off the couch and using the wall to find my way over to where I just barely saw him.
That's when I saw the quill.
"Woah! That looks cool!" I gasped, admiring it. Dad just nodded.
"Yeah, it's weird. I found it yesterday while I was on patrol. I don't know what to do with it." Dad said, not taking his eyes off the quill.
"Maybe it's from the Blue Devil." I joked. Dad snorted.
"Don't tell me you actually listen to what Crazy Carl says."
"Well, just because we don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there. Plus, Crazy Carl isn't all crazy. I think." I then frowned. "Also, when is the power gonna come back? I miss (F/T/S)."
"Soon, (Y/N). I hope." Dad muttered the last part, setting the quill back down on the table.

(Third POV and time skip)
A certain blue hedgehog was nervously trying to pack 'essential items' before being discovered.
"Alright, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair gel, night-light. Funny hat. This random half eaten cantaloupe. Oh, and my scented candle. My entire comic book collection. Bean-bag chair." He stopped briefly.
"Can a bean bag chair fit in a backpack?"
"No, of course not, that's stupid." He answered himself in annoyance. "Alright, what else... oh! The rings, of course!"
Sonic grabbed the old pouch of rings, and took one out.
"Here we go, ring time. Mushroom planet, here I-!" He was interrupted by the sound of barking dogs right outside his den. He gasped.
"Oh, no! They're right outside! I need to find someplace else!" He took one last sad look around, frowning.
"Goodbye, cave."
And with that, he escaped through a passageway.

"Dad! I think the raccoons are back!" I shouted, hearing crashing noises coming from the garage. It was the next day, and Dad had the day off.
"Oh, this time, they are in for a surprise." Dad pulled something out of the kitchen drawers. I raised a brow.
"Is that Mom's tranq gun? You do know that's only for bears, right?"
"Yup. Now, let's go deal with those trash-eaters." Dad made his way out to the garage, me following close behind.
"Don't you think the gun is a bit too much?" I whispered to him as I grabbed the handle. He nodded.
"It's only to scare them, (Y/N). Don't worry."
Sighing, I threw the door open.
"SFPD!" Dad shouted, going in.
"Pending background check!" I added, stepping in as well. "Paws in the-!"
The two of us stopped when Dad's flashlight landed on a blue hedgehog of some sort. He was tanking on two legs, with a backpack on, worn-out shoes, and he had a small golden ring in his hand. We all stared at each other for a second.
"Uh... meow?" He awkwardly attempted, shrugging. Me and Dad screamed, and then the hedgehog started screaming with us.
Then, stupidly, Dad fired Mom's tranquilizer gun right in the poor guy's left leg.
"Ow...!" He groaned, noticeably getting tired already. His exhausted eyes traveled to Dad's shirt.
"'San...Francisco'...?" He muttered, before collapsing onto his knees. The ring slipped from his gloved fingers, and landed on the floor. We stepped back when the ring grew to a portal, and opened up to a building from San Francisco.
Me and Dad could only stare as the blue hedgehog fell on his face, a small pouch of rings getting knocked from his hands and tumbling into the portal.
"...No..." He whispered, and fell unconscious.
We stood in more silence, before I turned to Dad.
"So, pardon my language, but what the f**k just happened?!" I exclaimed. Dad just kept staring at the unconscious hedgehog, too stunned to say anything.
