"Seriously, Dad?"

"I don't know! What else was I supposed to do?"

"You could've laid him on the couch like a decent human being." I rolled my eyes.

"It might be dangerous. It's only a precaution." Dad muttered, not taking his eyes off the unconscious blue hedgehog in Ozzy's crate.

"Damnit, Dad, this is why Mom's the veterinarian." I groaned. Then I looked at the poor guy.

"Can we keep him?" I asked, doing puppy eyes.

"No."

"Pleaaaase?? I'm always so bored!! Mom's always off doing something and you're-"

I stopped when I heard the crate open. The blue hedgehog groggily crawled out. Dad jumped back.

"...Donut Lord? (F/F) Person?" He asked in a tired tone. I raised a brow at the nicknames.

"You can talk. You're... you're not here to abduct us, are you?" Dad asked skeptically.

"We abducted him!" I exclaimed.

"Yes! Thank you, (F/F) Person!" He exclaimed.

"Alright fair. Also, why do you keep calling my child (F/F) Person and me Donut Lord??" Dad questioned him.

"Because you talk to donuts, and then eat them if they get out of line. And you always have (F/F) with you whenever you watch that show of yours." He explained.

"Again, fair." I shrugged.

"Wait, where are all the mushrooms? How come I'm still- Oh, no! I lost my rings!" The blue hedgehog exclaimed suddenly, his eyes wide in a panic.

"What?"

Before the blue hedgehog could answer Dad, there was low rumbling. I went to the window and lowered the blinds, and shuddered at what I saw.

"That is one high tech bus." I muttered.

"Is this your mother ship? Not in the mood to get probed."

"You think you're worried? I'm not even wearing pants!"

"Boys!" I shouted, silencing them. "Can we act fast, please?! I'm not exactly getting good vibes from that thing!"

"They're coming for me!" The little guy shouted in worry, as if it wasn't already obvious.

"Who's coming for you?! What's that gotta do with us?!" Dad asked the blue hedgehog in a panic, glancing quickly at the large black vehicle.

"I don't have time to explain. But you have to help me!" The hedgehog begged.

"No we don't! Well, why?" Dad asked.

"Well, my legs, which would normally be classified as lethal weapons, feel like spaghetti. I need your help, please. It's life or death."

My eyes widened a little, before I stole a quick glance at Dad. His eyes were wide as well. Those were the words he always wanted to hear from someone else. Dad was waiting for this moment. So, what was he going to do? I bit my lip anxiously. Finally, Dad sighed.

"Fine. I have a plan. You, come with me." He pointed to the hedgehog. "And you," he pointed to me. "I want you to sit at the kitchen counter and act as casual as possible. Leave the talking to me."

Since this was one of those serious times, I nodded without hesitation and hurried over to the counter, where I pulled out my phone and tried to look and act as casual as possible.

After Dad helped Sonic up to the attic, he quickly went to answer the door.

I didn't get it pay attention much. It all went by in a blur. One moment, Sonic was tumbling down the stairs, and the next, we had a robotic drone with a gun pointed at me and Dad, and some maniac dude I heard was Dr. Robotnik.

"Oh, jeez! No thanks! Don't feel like dying today!" I shouted. Dad pushed me behind him.

"I'm going to give you five seconds to tell me where it is. Five..." The crazy doctor started counting down.

"We don't know what your talking about." Dad muttered, his eyes shifting from the doctor to the drone.

"Four."

"Hey, tough guy, I'm a cop. You're threatening an officer."

"How can you threaten somebody who never existed? Three... Come on! Rack your brain!"

"Hey, mad scientist wannabe! We have zero clue what you mean! Get out!" I shouted. He glared at me.

"Watch it, kid. You two might be able to come up with some lame excuse to go on living in two..." He exclaimed.

I gulped.

"One!"

"Wait!" The hedgehog dashed out from under the table. "Don't hurt them!"

Dr. Robotnik shrieked at the sight of him, giving Dad the chance to punch him in the face. This caused the drone to bring out another set of guns. Hurrying, Dad grabbed the hedgehog's hand and my hand and took cover underneath the table. I screamed as the bullets hit the vase, spraying glass everywhere and nearly cutting us. I grabbed my old baseball bat that was conveniently laying next to me.

"This feels excessive!" Shouted the blue hedgehog.

"Yeah! Bad time to ask, but what's your name?" I shouted, readying my bat.

"Sonic!"

"Nice to meetcha, Sonic! I'm (Y/N)!" I shouted back, about to get up to swing at the drone before Dad stopped me with his arm.

"Stay behind me, you two." Dad ordered as the drone reloaded its bullets. Not wasting anymore time, I grabbed my bat and swung it with all my might at the drone. It hit it square in the red light, and it came crashing down.

"Hah! First try!" I cheered. Dad sighed, and grabbed Sonic's hand again. Eight that, we were out the door.

"Don't tell me that's all you got!" He shouted as we ran to Dad's truck. "I'm just getting started! Let me know if you wanna go round two with the blue!"

I chuckled and rolled my eyes at the guy. I jumped into the back seat, while Sonic and Dad got up front.

"Floor it, Dad!"

And just like that, we were tearing down the road.
