Character introduction

As a kid, you've always wished of becoming a superhero or imagining saving innocent people from bad people. To be the person that everyone looks to save them. To be the face of peace, the face of the people, and the face that makes everyone feel safe.

  That's what I thrive to do as a future pro-hero like my mom and dad. My name is Yui Mizu, I am an only child. My mom wanted more but she tragically passed away when I was five. I never really got over the loss of my mother.

— eleven years ago —

Five-year-old Yui sits down on a couch in her aunt's house playing superheroes with her dolls as her aunt and uncle are watching the breaking news.

"Today is a sad day, we have lost a hero on this day. She was the support hero and wife to the pro-hero Poseidon. Mizu, Yuri was a kind woman and well respected in the community-" the news anchors continue with their condolences and praises on all the good she has in her life, but to the little Yui all she sees are pictures of her mom coming up on a tv screen. "Why is a mommy on the tv? Why is she up there and not with daddy ?" She asked her aunt. "Yui sweetie....it's-it's a manorial tribute to your mother." She says as the tears stream down her face.  "What does that mean? Is she getting a prize?" Yui asked her aunt with innocent ignorance.

  "No sweetie...honestly you're father should be saying this but...he has enough to deal with...your mother passed away and she's going to a better place now..." her aunt said to the best of her ability. "Really!?!!?! When is she coming back?" Yui said with the biggest sad puppy eyes that a human little girl could have. Her face looked so sad and broken because now her small little child brain was connecting the dots "m-m-mommy isn't coming back home.....?" She said with sadness breaking her small voice as tears bested up in her eyes. This look alone broke her aunt's heart more. "No honey...I'm sorry ...but she'll always be with you in spirit." She said as she holds Yui close in a comforting hug as Yui starts to cry.

— End of flashback —

After losing my mom our little family was never the same. My father started hardcore training me because I got my quirk soon after the....passing. It was a combination of my mother's and father's quirks. Water manipulation from my father and healing water from my mother. I guess I could describe my quirk as a kind of water bending because it's similar. I can only use existing water from lakes, rivers, oceans, puddles, sweat, and plants. Though the thing that scares me is I can control blood as well. I try to stay away from it because I don't like the thought of controlling someone's limp body like a rag doll, plus it feels weird as hell.

  Growing up with my father was an interesting experience. He didn't know how to bond on an emotional level, all he knew was training and hero work. So...that's how we bonded, it felt more professional relationship than a father and daughter one. I honestly didn't have hun of social life in middle school after a long day of classes I went straight home to train with my father. Even though my social life was nonexistent I managed to keep two childhood friends Sero, Hanta, and Hayanari, Hinoka. Without them, I probably wouldn't have survived middle school.

—last day of middle school —

"Wow I can't believe this is it," Yui says with a giant smile on her face.  "Yeah, honestly I'm a bit nervous for U.A. Exam though," Sero says with his chill voice showing a hint of nervousness. "Oh it's not gonna be so bad, yeah it's a bit nerve-racking but hey I'll be there," Hinoka says with a nervous smile trying to hide her equally nervous jitters. "You guys will do great plus your quirks are powerful, so I don't think you have to worry too much," Yui says with an encouraging smile.  "Oh yeah isn't your exam tomorrow?" Hinoka asked with an interested tone with curiosity mixed in. "Oh yeah, all the students who got recommendations have an exam tomorrow, I hope I pass because I'm up against some tough people..." Yui says nervously fidgeting with her fingers. "ARE YOU JOKING?!?! GIRL, YOU HAVE A KILLER QUIRK!! You're guaranteed a spot in U.A.." Hinoka says a reassuring town with a bright smile.  Sero chuckles a little bit "yeah Yui don't worry so much you'll do great" he says with his usual smile.  "Thanks, guys ." Yui smiles softly her nerves calming down. "Hey wanna go hang out after school?"sero asked looking at them both. "Sure I'm down, what about you Yui?" Hinoka asked hopefully. "Oh I don't know... dad is being very strict with the exam coming up." She says honestly

===BUZZ BUZZ===

Yui looks and sees it's her dad calling her "speak of the devil...sorry, I gotta go." She's with a slightly sad tone as she packs up her stuff and walks out while answering the phone. "Hello? Dad what's up?" She asked. "I want you home to do one last training session before your exam tomorrow, " he says with his classic monotoned voice. "But dad-" she begins to say but was interrupted. "I said your training one last time before tomorrow. Understand?" He says making his voice sterner to get his point across. "Yes, dad...I'll be home soon bye..." she says hanging up the phone.

————Present day ————

I, Hinoka, and Sero are walking to the U.A school for Hinoka and Sero's exams I'm here for support. I sip my sweetened coffee as I zone out looking at the scenic school. Then suddenly I see a hand frantically waving in front of my face. "HELLO? EARTH TO YUI!!" Hinoka says in an overdramatic tone to get my attention, which honestly got everyone's attention. "Yes? What's up?" I asked with a slightly raised brow. "I was asking if you passed your exam yesterday, but you zoned out," Hinoka said. "Yeah you looked like a zombie," Sero said with a slight chuckle. "Oh sorry, yeah passed but was last....dad wasn't happy," I said my faint smile dropped and I couldn't help but beat myself up about it. "Hey don't beat yourself up at least you got in on recommendation," Hinoka said with a smile trying to cheer me up. "Yeah....I just can't help it...I know I could've done better." I say looking at her as we walk. I wasn't paying attention really and I accidentally bump into someone spilling my coffee all over their shirt. "OH MY GOSH, I'm SO SORRY...I can buy you a new shirt if you want-" as soon I looked up I froze.
