Lan Siblings -
Lan Xichen with birth name Lan Huan is the first heir of Gusu Lan Clan and 4 years older to both of his siblings. He is kind and gentle personality. He tends to wear a smile on his face, and is polite to everyone he meets. In contrast to many in their cultivation society, Lan Xichen treats everyone with the same courtesy regardless of status.A idle future Clan Leader.Slow to anger, Lan Xichen is only provoked if the situation involves someone he loved, and extremely protective of his younger siblings, his cute stoic baby brother and their sunshine sister.

Lan Wangi with birthname Lan Zhan is the second heir of Gusu and the eldest of the twins. From his youth, Lan Wangji is stubbornly obedient to the rules of his clan and is stoic. People think he doesn't have any emotions but it's very far from the truth, he has the habit of keeping everything botled up inside him as he doesn't know how to express himself and his emotion, the only people who could understand him are his mother and his siblings. He too is extremely protective of his siblings and would do anything for them. Though sometimes he gets a bit annoyed of his siblings teasing him for his cold demeanour, especially his younger sister , he loves them a lott.

Lan Meng the third heir and the Young Lady of the Gusu Lan Clan and the youngest of the siblings. She is very different from the rest of her clan, it is said that she took her characters from their late mother and has her eyes too.Her brothers always say that she reminds them of their mother.Unlike her twin she more believes on her own morals rather than the clan's. She is the strongest female cultivator of the cultivation world but despite that everyone is very protective towards her, as she is the sunshine of her brothers. Despite the rules of Lan Clan of teaching the female and male cultivators,Lan Meng being the heir was taught along with her brothers under their uncle.To her dearest uncle shufu's* horror she is the most unlan too, having her own ways to bend the rules but not in front of the rest of the cultivation world. To the cultivation world she is the gentle, noble, rule abiding Lady of the Lan clan who carries a strong aura as given to the Lan blood .Despite being the younger she was nowhere less to her brothers with both beauty and brain. She had a cunning mind and her own hidden side, which only her clan members knew.She also knew the little secret of her brothers which no one else knew. She loves and adores her brothers and family but gets annoyed a lott when they too become the same rule abiding puppets because which they lost their mother.

Qinghengjun- The Clan Leader and the father of the Lan Siblings.As a young man,Qingheng-Jun achieved renown as a famous cultivator. One day, while he returning from a night-hunt, he saw a woman outside of the city of Gusu and fell passionately in love with her. However, she did not reciprocate his feelings.Sometime later, the woman killed a teacher of Qingheng-Jun's, for an unknown reason. Despite his personal sorrows, Qingheng-jun secretly brought her back to the Cloud Recesses and married her to protect her. When they were discovered, Qingheng-Jun told everyone that Madame Lan would be his one and only wife, and that whoever wanted to harm her would have to pass through him first.However, unable to overcome the guilt and hatred in his heart, he imprisoned his wife in a small house surrounded by gentians in Cloud Recesses. He likewise imprisoned himself next to her house, forcing himself not to share a bedroom with her – although the births of Lan siblings suggest they did not always adhere to their imprisonment.Although the elders of the Gusu Lan Clan were enraged, they could not do anything except guard the secret, hinting to the outside world that Madam Lan had an unspeakable disease and could not see others.

Madam Lan-  The Lan furen was the wife of the clan leader Qinghengjun and the mother of the Lan siblings. She was a very gentle woman. Every time the siblings visited her, she never complained about how tedious it was to be locked inside her house, unable to venture out even one step, and she never asked about their studies. She especially liked to tease the reserved Lan Wangji with her daughter. She adored her daughter and it is said that Lan Meng took most of her characters from her mother and her eyes too.The incident of Madam Lan killing the teacher and enraged the elders a lot. After Lan siblings were born, they were immediately taken away from their mother to be cared for by others. When the boys grew older, they were taught by Lan Qiren, and permitted to see their mother only once a month.Madam Lan died when Lan Twins were six years old. Although many clan members comforted them, and Lan Qiren scolded them, Lan Wangji and Lan Meng continued to return to her house every month, waiting for her to open the door. When they grew older, although they understood that their mother could not return, he still continued visit.

Lan Qiren- He is an elder of the Gusu Lan Clan known for producing outstanding students, even out of the most hopeless cases. He is the brother of Qinghengjun and uncle of the Lan Siblings. Lan Qiren was intolerant of any viewpoints that contradicted his adherence to rules and tradition. Lan Qiren loved both his nephews and niece dearly, as he was their primary guardian due to his brother's seclusion. He raised them strictly in the hopes that they would not repeat Qingheng-Jun's errors, an act that implies some level of grief at his brother's fate. He took great pride in their obedience to the rules and to him.Nevertheless, despite his love for them, he continually displayed intolerance and ire at any perceived errors in morality or propriety.To his horror his horror his niece was not exactly what he imagined as she grown but despite that he loved and adored her although he never showed. His niece was the only one who could make him wield at some point. But other than that he was very proud of her like he was of his nephews.
