6years later~~

In the midst of snow kneeled two children one with a stoic face and pleading eyes and the other with a gloomy face and glistening eyes both in front of their mother's quarter.

Yes their mother's quarter,waiting for her to open the door and welcoming them in her embrace with that angelic smile and warmth as she always did.

It was just the last month that they visited her telling her how they had started their music cultivation lessons,sitting in her lap learning the new poetry and sometimes the daughter and mother duo teasing the younger jade...

But yesterday suddenly their uncle came just before the day they were supposed to meet their mother again that month and told that "Your mother is gone."

Gone? Where? Why did she leave them and go alone? When will she come back? Why did she leave suddenly without telling them? All this thoughts were going on inside the mind of the little twins... While they waited for their mother to open thedoor kneeling outside in the snow...

Suddenly their uncle's voice was heard behind them calling their name and scolding "A-Zhan A-Meng What are you both doing kneeling outside in the snow.. Why don't you understand she's gone... She won't return anymore.. That door won't open for you anymore". Their uncle sounded to be scolding but their was no heat in his voice.

Because this kids were now his responsibility.

Meanwhile in the minds of young twins a different whirlpool of thoughts were swirling... She won't come back anymore? Did she leave us? Didn't she love us anymore? The young minds of the twins were still too naive to understand the real meaning of the word gone.

Behind their uncle their Gege their elder brother was also standing with his head down and glistening eyes.

The now 10 year old Lan Xichen did understand what their uncle and clan elders meant but didn't know what to tell his younger siblings .

The twins tried to meet his eyes for explanation but got none just a pleading voice of their name.

But they too were Lans, young so what they would wait until their mother would return.

Though with different characters but they still with 6year old naive twins with similar innocent thoughts and mindset.

But they were pleadingly and forcefully taken back to their quaters.

Although many clan members comforted them, and Lan Qiren scolded them, Lan Wangji and Lan Meng continued to return to her house every month, waiting for her to open the door. When they grew older, although they understood that their mother could not return, he still continued visit.

And as the years passed although the visits continued many others things changed.

The Lan Siblings were brought up under the supervision of their uncle, the famous scholar Master Lan Qiren and grew up to be one of the most famous prodigy of their generation.

The siblings quite secluded themselves from the rest of the world,never showing their real and weak selves in front of the world and maintaining their own facades.

They showed their real sides only when they were alone and amog themselves,the caring elder brother,stoic but cute sulking younger jade and the mischievous but caring younger sister.

However for other,the eldest Lan Xichen became a role model and the idel clan heir, always carrying a kind smile and gentle aura of a clan leader,and the shield of his younger siblings, that night was the last time he saw his siblings crying and vowed to his own that he would let never happen that again and would protect his siblings always.

Lan Wangji as he grown became more stoic and would always abide by the rules and morals of the clan and was the role model and the favourite student of Master Lan and Lan Meng as she grown started to quite resent the morals of her own clan as they were the reason that her family had grown apart.

Though she was kind, noble gentle lady and one of the strongest cultivator in front of the rest of the clan, inside her own clan she had quite a different image,some who knew her real side even shivered after hearing her name, the elders of the clan were always not pleased by her ways but who would say anything to the lady of the Lan clan and the sister of the twin jades, no matter what her brothers always protected and were her shield, and she too in her own way protected her brothers, as she was their voice, Lan Xichen as the idle clan heir and Lan Wangji the role model of the clan were always abided by the rules, so Lan Meng as their sister and the cunning mind of hers took that role. She knew how to defeat someone with both her words and sword. Lan Wangji's glare and cold aura was quite famous in the cultivation world but Lan Meng's negative was yet to seen by everyone and whoever had seen were themselves never seen again. Although that was inside their own clan,where gossip was completely forbidden.And in front of the rest of the world the third heir of Gusu was a young kind, gentle beautiful lady with strong cultivation powers, protected by the twin jades.

Together the siblings were known as the Twin Jades and the pearl of Gusu.
