JUST LIKE THAT

CHAPTER 3 - REALLY??

***********A WEEK LATER***********
It's been a week since our Seattle trip. Tyrice and I were were going through a weird phase of our friendship. I had distanced myself from him cause I felt he was being too secretive for no reason but he didn't even bother to know why. When he calls, he's just asking how I am and that is it. That does not matter now. I have better things to think about; My new school. I'm going shopping today cause I'll be starting on Monday. I dressed up and ordered an Uber to the shopping mall. Once I got there, I moved to the first store and started my shopping spree. I shopped for everything I needed within an hour and half. I was feeling hungry afterwards so I went to McDonald's to eat. I was so interested in my phone and the delicious food I was eating that I didn't even know Ty had come to sit in front of me.

" Hey mamas." He greeted,taking one of my fries.
" What the hell?"
" Why do you always have an attitude? Why these bags though?"
" I went shopping.  As you can see."
" Oh yeahh. You are starting school on Monday. "
" We are fine now." He said,looking at me.
" We??"
" Candace and I. I didn't tell you what was happening cause I wanted to be sure first."
" That ??"
" She didn't cheat. We have settled the case now."
" Good for y'all. So that's why you got drunk? I can't believe it. I won't take it past her."
" You are saying that cause you don't like her."
" Whatever. "
" I'm sorry. "
" O- Kayy.  Stop being all sentimental. That's my role."
" Annoying as always. "

We laughed and started talking about random stuff; while eating my food. Just when I was trying to not dislike her, I see something I can't unsee. It was Candace kissing a guy who isn't Tyrice. So she lied?? This is cheating.  You can't be smooching another guy who ain't your boyfriend. Such a bit-

" Hey" he said,snapping his fingers.What are you looking at?"
He turned to look at where I was looking and thankfully,they were gone. Not that I cared about Candace but the poor guy who was gonna lose his nose if Ty saw them. Should I tell him? Or he should find out himself ? No.. no ..no. He's my best friend. He has every right to know what his sneaky girlfriend is doing behind his back.

He drove me home and escorted me to my room with my bags. He was about to go but I stopped him. I had to tell him.

" You know I love you,right?"
" Of course." He said,laughing.
" I even tolerated Candace all for you cause i love you."
" You still do. Or??"
" Not anymore. "
" Er..why?"
" Listen to what I'm about to say attentively.  I won't hide anything from you cause you are my best friend. "
" Cut to the chase,woman."
" Okay. So when we were eating, I saw something I can't unsee and I won't keep quiet about. I saw Candace there kissing another guy passionately.  Who ever told you that Candace was cheating didn't lie."

I stopped to wait for his reaction and it was emotionless.  He was just sitting there, lost in his thoughts.

" Ty?"
" I'm sorry...er..what did you just say?"
" I've always had a weird feeling about her ."
" Lynn. Are you kidding me right now? How can she be cheating on me? She refuted the accusations yesterday. She won't just go around and kiss another guy today. Malik swore he saw her with another guy but she said it was a lie."
" And you believed her??"
" Why not? She's my girlfriend. Don't tell me you are on Malik's side."
" I am. I saw her cheat with my own eyes. Why should I believe otherwise?"
" Why am I even expecting you to trust her? You don't like her and you would do anything to break us up."
" Really?? I can't believe you. You are so blinded in that foolish love you can't even see you are losing your friends. Fuck! I can't believe you are taking her side. You know what? "
" What Lynn?"
" Get out."
" What? Why?"
" Cause I don't want to breathe the toxic air around you. Its disgusting! Get out!"

He picked his phone and his car key and left. He didn't even change his mind. I broke down and cried out. I can't believe that witch has managed to ruin our friendship.

************MONDAY**************
" Hey baby girl. Are you ready?" Papa asked.
" Yeah. I'll be down in a minute. "
" Okay. We'll wait for you in the car."

I looked at myself in the mirror for the last time. I took my my phone from the dresser and picked my bag. You can do this,Lynn.
I went outside and sat in the car.

" He still hasn't called?" Lloyd asked.
" It's not like I would pick up anyways." I answered.
" Aren't y'all supposed to be bestfriends?" Papa asked.
" Can we please change the subject?"
" Sure sure. Okay,so are we ready for our new school?" He asked, turning to face us.
" I mean we are in your car with our bags all dressed up. Do we have a choice?"
" Nope. Not at all. " Papa answered.
We laughed and we continued our journey to East Mansville High.
We got there in about 30 minutes. Not that far. It was a beautiful school after all. I think I'm going to like it here.

"Okay. We are here. Please get out of my car." Papa stated.
" Whoaa. Chill man." Lloyd said, laughing.
" I have already spoken to the Headmistress so she's expecting you."
" okay." We both chorused.
We picked our bags and came out and he drove off.
" So...do you know how we are going to find the Headmistress' office?" I asked Lloyd.
It was at that moment we realised we f***ed up. We forgot to ask Papa. And we are, about to get stranded on our first day. We were about entering the school anyways when someone approached us.

" You must be the new students. The headmistress figured you were lost cause your father called a while ago that he had dropped you off. Sorry...my poor manners. I am Aiden Fletcher, the head boy of this noble institution. "
" You have a very weird name. " I stated. Lloyd pinched me.
" Ouch!"
" Sorry man. Hi, I am Lloyd Norman and she's Lynn Norman." Lloyd said.
" You guys are siblings??"
" Twins. " I said.
" Ohh. That is nice. You must be the cool one while she's the..." he eyed me and cleared his throat. " Let's go. The headmistress is waiting."

She was a very bubbly woman. She sat us down and told us about the school and everything we needed to know. She gave us the school's map and handbook and our locker keys.
Aiden showed us to our first class. We were not going to have all our classes together. The only one we had together was Spanish.
I entered my first class and everybody was quiet. I handed the teacher a note the headmistress had written. He nodded and smiled at me. He welcomed me and addressed the class.
" Okay. So we have a new student today and as I always do, I'll allow her introduce herself.  "
" Hi. I'm Lynn Eleanora Norman. I don't know what else to say but I guess I'm your new classmate. "
Everyone laughed including Jenkins as I was told his name was. He welcomed me again and asked me to sit by a girl called Sugar. Nice name.

The day went by very fast. Surprisingly. I moved out of Spanish class with Lloyd since that was our last class.
" Did Malvin bring your car?"
" Who the hell is that?" He asked, his eyes locked in his phone.
" Dad's personal assistant. "
" Majorie??"
" I just said Malvin...I mean Mr Wheeler. "
" Then who is Majorie to dad then?"
" Partner."
" Ohh I see. Why do you call him Malvin?"
"Why do you call her Majorie?"
" Fair enough. Let's go?"
" Yeah. Why are you even so interested in your phone?"
" Sorry ma."
We walked to where his car was parked and drove off.
When I got home, i took a quick shower cause I was feeling hot. I dressed up and sat on my bed. "Today wasn't a bad day after all." I thought to myself.
