if you want to improve your own username !

━━━ WHAT TO DO !

i. use all lowercase letters (or stick to all capital letters)! this helps to make usernames memorable, since there is no need to remember where there are capital letters. it also helps your username look cleaner and more simple!

ii. make them short! don't make them too long that no one remembers your username- make it short and sweet, that way it is way easier to memorise.

iii. use double letters! perhaps this is a personal thing, but i am a huge sucker for double letters! generally slimmer (i can't tell if saying that is rude or not lol) letters like, 'i', 'l' etc. work best.

━━━ WHAT NOT TO DO !

i. no random letters! this makes it so hard to remember and it will be a struggle for people to remember; generally, people don't remember a username that is kjbsdfjbsdf3523. any keyboard smashes is a big no!

ii. don't use numbers! like random letters, they are quite hard to remember and if you have many numbers, it's a huge hassle to type out on mobile. an exception to this would be any 1800- usernames (i adore them to be honest)! anything else can go, i'm sorry-ish (depends on the situation) :)

iii. avoid underscores and substitute with hyphens! if a username is taken, use a hyphen somewhere instead of numbers or adding unnecessary letters. generally, hyphens at the beginning are a lot better like my main account -iivymei! the end is great as well. 

iv. avoid substituting letters with similar letters! this makes it a huge pain to try and type usernames if you cannot spot the small differences like replacing an 'I' with an 'l' (first is an 'i' and second is an 'L')! it's literally so annoying when you do that and then you tagged the wrong account or one which doesn't exists.
