12 September 2008It was such an ordinary day that no one would have even expected their dog to find a coin on the road. But I was a pitiful excuse.
Had they had even the slightest hint of what was to come, they would have packed their bags and set out to the dark side of the moon.
What could a mere fourteen-year-old do when the laws of the universe were changing?
Long story a little less longer, the laws of the universe had decided to leave this horrendous cosmos.
I was contemplating on my existence after not being able to skate board after hitting my shins and ankles for three whole months, just like a normal teenager would. I was utterly devestated and disappointed.
I walked to the highest point point of the lowest mountain in the entire mountain range, thinking that the view of the splendid waves of the ocean below would console me of my miserable failure.
However, my life is disgusting. The waves woke up in the morning and chose violence.
The waves were hitting each other from three different directions forming a triangular whirlpool in the middle.
The Bermuda Triangle? No, that's not possible.
Nature was bullying me to the extent that my eyes could see the island in the opposite side coming closer and closer to the mountain range. Or it really was coming closer. This was not the only incident which made me feel something very wrong about this day.
Twelfth September—such an ordinary day for the rest. But not for me. I bet they'd have very different views if their cat was murdered by a psycho rodent. My pet cat, Frisbee, was a huge cat and was could crush down rodents with her single paw. Frisbee had the habit of making herself comfortable on my chest in the early mornings. I was used to this mild discomfort.
That day, I woke up to find that Frisbee had not made by chest her luxury couch.
Instead, I found her dead on the carpet, a rat nibbling on her paw. Parts of her body were nibbled off and her blood soaked my carpet.
The rat had huge fangs and was missing a ear. As soon as it saw me, it ran away.
Just the fact that a rat had entered my house, seemed suspicious. Our block was filled with huge cats who liked rodents for dinner. No rodent dared to set its paw here.I brushed the thought of a rodent killing my Frisbee aside. She could have died of some other cause and the rodent must be hungry.
I buried Frisbee in the garden near her favourite bed of lilies.
Something was off with the gravity that day. I felt my skateboard was heavier than usual. I brushed this fact off too thinking I was weak due to how heartbroken I was after Frisbee's passing.
To lighten my mood, I picked up a stone and tried to trow it at an apple on a nearby tree. It was insultingly light for its size. I threw it with such force, but it didn't even reach the tree.
I climbed up the tree. I was feeling lighter than usual and could climb up easily. I accidentally dropped the apple after plucking it.
But, by the time I reached down the eight foot tall tree, I yet had to go on my tip toes to catch the apple.
