Daniel
Sometime in the universeI don't know how and when did I disappear from the apple tree. The last I remember is telling all what was happening to a middle-aged woman and she giving me a dirty look.
I had teleported to what appeared like a typical movie-like spaceship. White all around with a strip of turquoise LED light in the middle. A big control panel and screens with data and radars and stuff.
After I was done being intrigued by this Marvel, a voice called out to me, an old man with a heavy British accent.
"Welcome Daniel Willards! I'm your well wisher, Oldie Nuggets. Do you have any questions?""Me? Yes, too many. Why am I here? What was happening today? What is this place? I want answers." I said. This was beyond my understanding. This was like a dream.
"What you saw and experienced today was not your planet earth, at least not your reality of earth. It was a parallel universe. You are selected for a noble task with five others. You are going to restore the balance of your universe and the infinite parallel universes. This is the interuniversal space center and you are currently a lightyear away from the void." Said Oldie Nuggets.
"This has to be a terrible joke. Or a dream. This is not possible." I said.
Oldie Nuggets gave a sigh and said, "Human denial. You earthlings are emotionally weak. Your comrades will be here soon. They also belong to your parallel universe, but only from different times or what you call it... generations? Yes, generations."
I took some time to understand what was happening, and I thought, we'll saving the parallel universes must be more fun and cool than skateboarding.
"Mr.Nuggets, can you please show yourself? It's getting a little awkward, talking to a voice." I said.
"Oh, sure." Nuggets said. And in front of me appeared an old man of maybe sixty. He was dressed up as a terrible fusion of Gandalf and Dumbledore, with a wooden staff in his hand.
He looked weird in a wizard costume standing in a high-tech spaceship.
As if he heard my thoughts, he said, "Oh. I understood."He held his staff like a guitar and played it. The whole high-tech spaceship turned into a wizard's hut.
"Did you teleport us?" I asked. "No, I changed the ship decor." He said.
"Why do you dress like this?" I asked him. "It's because I found a funny old man in some movies I found in the archives. He was very amusing. I found a similar fellow in another movie. It sounded like a fun trend." He said.
That was a weird excuse.
Oldie Nuggets roles up his robe sleeves and checked his watch. "Oh great, they're arriving soon." He said.
"Who are 'they'?" I asked.
"The remaining five, you're lovely comrades."
