you were staring outside from the library. unlike you, the students were busy planning their class performance or their stands. your classmates decided to prepare on a late afternoon time considering that everyone was still sleeping 'til noon.

luckily, the school made arrangements to every internship will be paused for the school's event. however, class 3b coincidently had all their hero interns scheduled at night. another reason why you guys decided on a later time than other classes.

you didn't mind, not like you needed that much sleep or rest because of your quirk.

ua school festival has always been a big deal second only to the school's sports festival. it was also a big deal for your classmate, monoma, who rejected being in class a because of his loyalty to class b since first year.

it was amusing at the same time tiring because it meant you will be roped along to every competition he declared.

"[y/n]-chan, want to watch 3a suffer?"

you hear monoma whisper behind you. kendo was with him, keeping him company as well as keeping him in line before he harms himself because of his antics.

you sighed as you rolled your eyes. "what are you planning this time?"

he feigned shock. "oya, how did you know i'm planning on anything?"

"you always do," kendo mutters making you raise an eyebrow as if it proved your point.

monoma rolled his eyes, grabbing your forearm along with kendo and you let him lead the way, knowing where you were going.

he smiled gleefully at whatever his mind has come up with.

"oh, no. it's monoma." you heard someone from 3a and you couldn't help but snort.

you were pretty sure the two you were with heard it; kendo also smiled while the main attraction only smirked. for three years of being classmates (inexplicably and regrettably, also meant being friends) with monoma, you were sure that he only spite the other section of hero class to entertain himself and to push himself to do better.

ah, rivalry.

you...

could care less. :)

you had your own pace, your own time when you want to shine or if you even wanted to shine. with eraserhead being your role model... i think you could guess where the motivation is coming from.

you knew you were good— hell, you're great. you just didn't have a loud mouth to keep up with everybody. it's not like being hero is competition, you know. your only focus is to be a better version of yourself. not like you have a problem with yourself to begin with.

honey, you are amazing. repeat that 'til it's practically embedded in your mind and soul.

"oya, oya. don't tell me you're doing that lame band performance again?"
