Slamming the car door, Rave shuffled into the building with his right hand, Zale, closely behind him. They’ve known each other since birth and had always been close, so Zale becoming his second-in-command was an obvious conclusion. Their mothers being best friends, who managed to get pregnant close to each other and raising them together made them close as well. Though the only one born into the mafia was Rave, the Rossi’s knew the lifestyle of his family and when Rave became head of the Moretti Mafia, he quickly made Zale his underboss; he was the only man, other than his father, he trusted in the world.
The two men entered the warehouse prepared to kill everyone if they didn’t like what they had to say. Another shipment had gone missing and once again no one had a clue as to how, who or why. An ominous feeling shrouded them into the warehouse, and they could tell that the men before them felt the tension, the fear that someone would die tonight was evident. The men stood shoulder to shoulder before them and their guards, waiting for the questions to start. Before they spoke, the new guy stepped forward, “Si-, ahhh!” he yelled, collapsing on the floor. The other men surrounding him just stared at him as he held his bleeding leg, groaning in pain.
Zale approached and squatted before the young man, “I know you're new here, that is why you're still alive, but this will be the only warning you will get about this. Learn to read the room and only speak when spoken to, yes?” The young man nodded, still gasping in pain. “Good, now stay there until we’re done, if you bleed out and die well, you're dead so it won’t matter. Now to the rest of you, where is our shit”? he asked, standing tall as the men stood silent.
“No one knows huh. Who took it?” Rave asked next. “No answer to that either”.
“Wow brother” Zale started with a dry chuckle “We pay them for what because they don’t protect shit and can’t gather information to save their lives, literally.” The men who had been around for a while stepped back, they knew this was a warning and that he would lash out at the nearest man. They knew the bullets would soon start flying.
“Tell you what, one of you will answer the question and that will be the answer for all of you.” Pointing to a random man, Zale said smirking, “Tell us anything that you saw that could help us locate who did this and save your lives tonight.”
“W- Well t-there was a red snake or dragon on one of the men.” He said nervously.
“And you failed to mention this before because…?”
“Well I had to be wrong about this.” The man stopped at the irritated expression that took over their faces. “Malcolm has the same tattoo on his side, near his armpit, I saw it one day as we were unloading the product but I thought I was wrong, so I kept it to myself.” he rushed out.
Everyone turned to Malcolm, who visibly shrunk in front of them. “Malcolm, my friend” Rave started with a devious smile on his face “let’s talk.”
