A week after the encounter with the waitress, Rave had yet to get her out of his mind. She had avoided them after telling Zale off. He actually found it funny, Zale had been shocked when she had refused them to be in her section, he wouldn’t let it go the whole time they ate and even now Rave had caught him in thought about it.

“Idiot,” he said out loud before getting back to work. Just as he was completely focused, Zale burst through the door.

“A week! I have thought about her for a week, I think I’m sick!” he yelled while collapsing in a chair.

“Must you be loud though.”

“Well help me fix it! She’s a stranger, who turned me down. Us, she turned us down! Like we were nobodies!”

Looking up from the papers in my hand, Rave chuckled dryly. “ I love how you tried to include me but she didn’t turn me down, she turned you down and only you,” smiling at the sneer on Zale’s face. “Look, we have a lot of things we have to figure out that we need to fix. You not getting the girl’s attention is not important right now.”

“Common” Zale pressed “You’re not a little curious about her, we can get info on her, quick and easy.”

“Tell you what, you help me find a name about who is doing this and I’ll help you get your girl.” Rave stated, even though he knew he was just entertaining him. They have to figure this out no matter what and it took precedence over the girl.

“Deal! Okay, so far the Red Dragons are supposedly a small biker gang, like a midlife crisis type of thing and they have no reason to want to attack us. We’ve even done some small dealings with them in the past. We should set up a meeting with them to get to the bottom of this.” he ended.

Rave stared blankly at Zale, attempting to calm himself. “I want them dead, not a conversation. They stole our shit, I’m pissed.”

Texting one of the men to bring Malcolm in, Zale replied “I understand but let’s be wise and truly figure it out. I mean why would they want a war with us. Malcom said he didn’t know that they were the ones attacking the warehouse, so who's to say that the whole group is doing this.” He finished just as a battered Malcolm was escorted inside the office.

“Malcolm, my friend, me and Rave are so excited to see you in the world of the living. We thought Rave had killed you that night, you know with you barely having a pulse and all. You have a good fighting spirit, most would’ve just died.”

“Sirs” Malcolm replied hoarsely.

“Let’s get to the point please.” Rave stated.

“Well, like I said before, I don’t know who attacked your warehouses. The group just gets together to drink and have a good time. We don’t sell or steal or anything like that. We have tattoos but it's just a brotherhood thing because we don’t wear specialty jackets.”

“So you truly have no idea why one of the members would take our stuff?” Rave asked.

“ I seriously don’t know. These men have petty crimes on their records but nothing close to a hard criminal. Maybe some are doing things outside the group but I assure you we’re not doing this as an organization and I'm not helping them, please believe me.” he pleaded.

Rave looked over to Zale with a question on his face. Zale nodded his head “ I believe you but I will kill your whole family in front of you if you are lying to us. Now release him.” he said to him and the other guards dismissing them.

“I had our guys look into his and his wife’s bank account and there were no weird transactions, but we will keep an eye on them. in case he tries to move them for some reason.”

Zale had a playful demeanor, especially compared to him but could straighten up when business had to be done. Another reason why Rave knew he had made a good choice, when choosing him to be his underboss. Zale always took initiative and was never afraid to step in and calm Rave down from making a decision he would regret or acting hastily in general. Most just feared him and though Zale respected him and knew not to cross him, he didn’t fear him.

“Good.” Rave replied, feeling an expectant energy coming from Zale, he knew he wanted to focus on the girl and was waiting for the word but he felt like making him suffer for a few more moments. He kept his head down,

“Come on!” Zale dragged out, knowing that Rave was messing with him.

“Fine, do you wanna just get a rundown on her or do you wanna back to the diner?” Rave asked, giving up on the idea of going back to work.

“Both! Now move your ass fratello, I already got her schedule so we have an hour and a half until she’s off.”

“Stalker.” Rave said, grabbing his jacket, following an excited Zale out the door.
