"Maya, you're staying late, Donna has to knock off early because of her kid, again!” My manager yelled at me, from the kitchen, as I grabbed the completed orders. The damn girl always had to be off early on Friday, always about her child, the kid should be quarantined with the number of illnesses he caught. She was really doing it because somehow, she managed to find a dealer that worked on a very strict schedule and every Friday she had to move fast, or she would miss her opportunity to get her fix.
"You know I have a life, right?" I stated as nicely as possible.
He just looked at me and rolled his eyes. The man had a crush on me and would always try to flirt with me when we closed up for the night. I paid him no mind because he never went too far but I knew he was just using this as another opportunity, he had plenty of staff he could bother but whatever.
The door chimed, as I passed by with my orders and I saw two of the most handsome men I've ever seen walk in. They were tall, tan and covered in tattoos, like bad boy Adonis’ with dark hair and brooding eyes. Continuing on to my table, I saw Steph fix her boobs as she walked past me, to serve the sexy men. I can call a spade a spade and the men were spades, they were very handsome but nonetheless not my business and definitely didn’t pay my bills so the “diner whore” could have them.
"Her?! You want her?!" Steph yelled out over the diner, a minute later."I can help you better than she can, I mean look at me and look at her!”
I turned towards them wondering what the drama was. This place was pretty busy and yet we could all hear her. She seemed to be having a hard time with the men that had just come in. Our manager walked towards their booth attempting to help as I headed past them when one of the men grabbed my hand.
“We want her, she’s more pleasing to look at.” he said with a smirk as I snatched my hand back.
“Well gentlemen, I understand but this is not her section.” my manager replied, while gesturing towards me. “But Steph can assist you, she’s great” he finished pleadingly.
“Then move us.” the man replied as if that solved the problem. I turned my head when I felt someone's eyes on me, not surprised to see Steph staring daggers at me as if I told the men to be obnoxious and demanding. I rolled my eyes in response.
“No,” I stated before anyone else, “her section has the opening right now, so you’ll have to sit in hers.” I said before walking away ending the conversation.
