Every day was the same. For once, Yunno wished that something would be different. Nothing ever seemed to be different, even when they tried to make things different. All efforts seemed to be worth nothing. They never understood the reason to even have a job either. Work their whole lives, for nothing. As usual, they found themselves daydreaming fighting side by side with their favorite heroes, Demi-gods. Just to get to have an adventure with them and even do something real with their life was all they wished for. It felt near impossible, however. The honking of a car behind them startled them and almost made them crash into the car in front of them. They shook their head lightly and began to drive again. Time seemed to blur by as they drove, parked, then made their way up to their small apartment. The whole space was basically like a massive room. Though it looked nice, it didn't when they first moved in. They poured more money than they should've had just fixed their apartment.

They tossed their things into the corner they always did then began to dress. As they had, their mind was already imaging and wandering. They could see Percy and his dumb smile with his girlfriend. They could see him fight, near collapse as he always seemed to be when he was fighting. Then, they could see themselves come in and fight alongside him and Annabeth, saving the day for the two demi-gods and receiving praise from them. It felt so real, yet deep down they knew it was. Yunno winced as they cut their finger on the razor in their hand. They stared at the blood that dripped down into the sink. It didn't feel real, they couldn't register it for the longest time. When they had, they cursed and went to find where they put the bandaids. They realized they were out after searching and just lazily tapped some toilet paper to the wound. It would have to work for now.

It's not like they had the money to even get bandaids, though. They didn't really know why they bothered with it either. Once the cut was dealt with they finished shaving their face and then flopped down into their bed. They found themselves unable to sleep. Yunno stared at the ceiling before giving in and grabbing one of the books. They kept this small bookshelf, filled with the various tails of Percy Jackson. They didn't bother looking at the book they randomly grabbed. All the books were worn with use, having been read over and over again. It was worth it every time and the stories never got old.

Before they knew it, the sun was long gone. It had been hours since it was last seen by them when they finally snapped out of the hyper fixation of the book. However, after a quick bathroom break, they were already sucked back into the book. The lamp that sat on the bookshelf beside the bed produced a soft light that is bright enough to light up the small bedroom part of the apartment. It felt like it had only been a few minutes since last they checked when the sun began to rise again. They glanced up from the book towards the window, muttering a good morning to the sun as if it was a person. It made them smile and lifted their mood, even if it was short-lived. Their eyes grew heavier the longer they forced themselves awake. Eventually, they couldn't stay up any longer.

Yunno had fallen asleep, breathing calmly and wrapped in the bedding of the small twin-sized bed. It was what they could afford and fit in the space. Despite the need to feed their hyper fixation to finish the rest of the book they had started hours before, they allowed themselves to welcome the sleep that overtook them. Besides reading, sleep had always felt just as safe for them. It was a place they could control. A place that they are safe in, as long as they could control it. Apart from them worried about what would come when they woke up, they pushed it aside and dreamt of the demi-god heroes that they often found themselves dreaming of. Maybe they'd have another adventure together.
