chapter 1

-6 years later-

"Come on L, just jump down" my two best friends stood at the bottom of my window, "give him a break Aj, he hasn't snuck out in months" jack shoved aj while letting out a light laugh, 5 secons later they were wrestling in my back yard, I rolled my eyes and grabbed my skate board, "heads up!" I threw my skate board out the window, "Dude what the hell!" I heard Aj yell up to me, I looked out the window aj had gotten up while Zach was diying of lughter after seeing his friend scramble out of the way of the skate board.

I shushed them both so we didn't get caught, I grinned at the two boys impatiently waiting for me to get outside, I climbed out onto my roof shutting my window almost all the way but open enough it would be easy to get back in, I jumped off the small peice of roof, "catch me zachy" I said In a high pitch voice trying hard not to laugh, to my surprise he actually did catch me, "anything for you Mrs. Lex" he said dropping me I laughed and punched him in the arm, "if that wasn't satire I would kill you" aj said his voice cracking from trying to hold in his laugh, "jealous Ajax?" I looked at him innocently, "alright thats it" out of no where Aj jumped at me knocking me to the ground, after about 3 minutes of play fighting we all started skating down the road.

We skated to the nearest corner store, we all got energy drinks and stocked on candy, I paid for our stuff, "next time your paying" I laughed throwing a penny at Zach the cashier chuckled under her breath, I put our stuff in my backpack and we skated to he nearest park. After an hour of running around, yelling and chasing each other we finally settled down on the roof of the play place thing at the park, "shoulda brought my fake id" Zach sighed, aj grinned and nudged my shoulder, "yeah because everyone's gonna belive this dipshit is over 21" I laughed at Aj's comment while Zach rolled his eyes, "closer to It than you, how old are you again? 15?" Aj scoffed, "16 actually" Zach clapped sarcastically, "good job" I leaned forward to look at the two boys, "I'm still older than both of you" I laughed causing both of them to start yelling at me, I'm 17 zachs 16 and a half and Aj's 16. After another hour the guys dropped me back off at my house, saying our goodbyes I started to climb back onto the small peice of roof.

As I neared the window my eyes widened the light in my room is on and my window was wide open, I remember clearly I had left my light off. I climbed into my room swiftly but quietly making my way to my door, I could hear faint voices so I put my ear against the door to see if I could hear better,
"Rose he's 17 did you expect him not to sneak out at some point? anyways its only 12. Give the poor kid a later curfew fucking 10 is to ealry,, and then maybe he wouldn't do this kinda shit"

"Just because you expected it Mark does not mean I did. Do you know how scary this is for me? Especially because that Mr. phobia guy has been taking kids. Dont try to blame me for this I'm just trying to keep my baby safe"
"Look I'm sure he's fine, calm down rose. He's probably out with Zach and Aj and everyone knows those three will never let anything happen to one another, he'll be back soon"
"I don't know how you can be so ok with this!"

Of course it's my mom and dad fighting..again.. it's always over the simplest things too.
I heard someone exit my parents room and walk towards my room, I darted into the closet focusing on controlling my breathing so I didn't get caught, a few seconds later my mom walked in and looked out my window her face and eyes were red, I can't tell if she was crying because of me or their fight. She sat there for about 5 minutes before getting up and leaving, I quietly opened the door to the closet and ran over to my window hopping out of it once again, as soon as I hit the ground I picked up my skate board and texted my dad.

Hey dad, Mom might have forgotten, so just so she isn't worried I'm at Aj's house, she said I could stay over earlier

Ok thanks bud, your mom must have forgotten, she's really worried, thanks for checking in do I need to pick you up tomorrow?

Ok, don't come home drunk, high, or hung over your mom would kill us both..just spend the night again if It comes to it

I shut off my phone and started my way to zachs house, it was 12 30 when I got there. I snuck to the back yard and knocked on the window, I could see the glow of his PC so I knew he was awake, i tapped on the window and a few seconds later he opens the curtains and window, "what the hell dude you scared the shit outta me..it's 1 am why are you here?! If my dad sees you who knows what he'll do!" He whispered worriedly at me walking back so I could get in, "yeah yeah..who knew being gay could cause such a hatred to someone..Anyways, We aren't staying here so chill your coming with me to Aj's house" I guess I was talking to loud because Zach kept anxiously looking at his door, he sighed, "ok fine let me write a note real quick" he scribbled on a peice of paper and stuck it to the outside of his door, he nodded at me and we climbed out of his window and started our way to Aj's.

We were half way to Aj's when the rain started coming down hard, suddenly zachs board hit a rock and he went flying forwards into a puddle, "You've gotta be shitting me!" He yelled out in frustration, I hopped off my bored helping him up, "I think I'm bleeding..God damnit it's too fucking dark to see shit" I grabbed zachs board before it got to far and reached into my bag, "hold on I think I have a flashlight and some bandaids" I could faintly see Zach nod after a bit of rummaging around I grabbed my flashlight and some bandaid I turned on the flashlight to see Zach shaking like a kid that's scared of thunder, I looked at his arm and there was nothing I looked up to his face and there was a long cut from the corner of his lip almost to his ear, "your face is cut kinda badly, for now all I can do is put a bandaid on it" he nodded, I ripped the wrapper off carefully placing the bandaid on his face, he was still shaking though..

I took off my hoodie and gave it to him, "we should walk the rest of the way its safer" he nodded, he slipped on the hoddie and stayed extremely close to me, at one point he grabbed hand as we walked down the road, "zach?" "Hm?" "Are you scared of the dark?" He stopped walking, I turned to see tears in his eyes,he was looking at the ground, "its ok, I'm not gonna judge I'm terrified of spiders" he looked up at me and started snickering, I rolled my eyes, "yeah..I have nyctophobia.." his face went red with embarrassment i smiled softly and handed him the flashlight, "onward we go" I said he laughed *click* what was that.. *click* I looked around and saw nothing I decided to ignore it.

By the time we got to Aj's we were soaked and it was 2 in the morning.
We picked up a couple pebbles and threw them at a bell aj had put up so we didn't have to throw them at his window to get his attention anymore, a couple rocks later he opens the window, "calm the fuck down your gonna wake my parents, I'll be down in a sec" "no be down now it's freezing" I laughed and led Zach to Aj's front door, a few minutes later he opens the door with towles, "what are you guys doing here? It's 2 in the fucing morning" aj said handing us towels, Zach looked at me, "my mom found out I snuck out so I told her I was at your house cuz zachs dad hates me.. I also want alcohol"

Zach and aj started laughing at the last part, "don't worry we have plenty for everyone, yall hungry?" I nodded eagerly following aj inside Zach close being me, "when's oli not hungry" Zach said with a grin aj smiled, me and Zach set our stuff down in front of the door, "fair enough" I shoved jack into aj and laughed, after a couple minutes of rough housing I heard it again *click* *click* *click* what the fuck is making that sound..
