We all heared it this time.

Aj looked around trying to identify where the sound was coming from, he walked through the living room Zach stood by my side as I watched aj look through all the windows in the living room.

I walked towards the kitchen window looking out at the side of aj's yard, nothing.

"You see anything?" Zach whispered standing closer to me than I remember, "no..Aj? You see anything?" I say a little louder than a whisper he looked towards me and shook his head, "alright homos it's almost 3 in the morning were probably just tired..we only have one guest bedroom though so one of you will have to sleep on the couch"

Aj walked back to us gesturing towards the couch, "I'll take the couch" I said Zach followed me over grabbing his board, aj handed me a blanket, "night guys" I said sitting on the couch, "night" Zach replied, aj noded walking up the stairs Zach following close behind him, I laid on the couch throwing the blanket over me, i laid there for maybe 30 minutes before i heared foot steps in the hall upstairs, just to be safe i quickly reached for my bag silently grabbing my pocket knife, the person started coming down the stairs, i gripped the knife tighter, it was dark but i could still see my knuckles getting whiter the harder i gripped the knife.

Finally the person got to the bottom of the stairs, i held my breath being sure not to make a sound, "felix?.. are you awake..?" I let out a sigh of relief, "jesus christ zach you scared the shit out of me.." i loosened the grip on my knife, "im sorry..i just couldn't sleep" i sat up letting the blanket fall off of me "i can't sleep either" I stood up walking to the kitchen Zach following behind me

I turned on the light and got out two cups, I turned on the sink of filling up the cups handing one to Zach, "so is nyctophobia your only phobia?" I ask hoping not to upset Zach too much, I heared a soft laugh from the boy before he answered, "no I uh actually have Ophidiophobia" I nodded, "the fear of snakes" i said looking out the window into the dark sky just barely being light up by small traces of the sun.

I look over to Zach who was staring at the ground his silk black hair showed off a soft glow in the light, the bandaid I put on his face earlier was starting to peel I'm assuming from the rain, "how's your face?" He looked up at me confused until realization hit him, "oh uh it's fine I guess it doesnt really hurt" I watched him reach up an carefully drag his hand over the scratch that was starting to scab over, I walked over quickly gripping the bandaid and ripping it off, "ow what the fuck man?" I gave him a quick smile before turning around and throwing it away.

I looked back to zach he yawn'd, "i might head to bed im really tired all of a sudden" i didn't really want him to go but i was quite tired to, "hey.. you mind if we sleep in the same room? I can sleep on the floor" Zach turned around, "hm? Oh uh yeah sure no problem,  grab your stuff" i grabbed my bag and board and followed Zach upstairs when we got to the room it turns out they had a recliner, Zach handed me an extra blanket and laid down in the bed while i laid in the recliner, "night felix" i smiled as the words repeated in my mind, "g'night Zach".

I leaned more into the recliner getting comfortable, my eyes started to get heavy as I sunk into the perfect mix of a cold chair and a warm blanket. Not even a few minutes later I was out.
