chapter 3

I woke up to a shuffling around the dark room and a small, "ow" I turned my head and looked around the room, "zach..? Are you alright" the room went silent and not the comforting silence a cold scary silence, I broke the silence before it got to overwhelming, "zach? Hello?" I stood up from the recliner and walked towards the light switch I stopped infront of it, more sounds of footsteps flooded my ears, they were getting closer and closer.

I quickly flipped the light switch and scanned the room, nothing. My eyes gazed towards the bed where Zach laid sleeping soundly, I sighed turing the light off and quietly opening the door. as I walked down the dimly lit hallway I stopped in front of the window to watch the sun slowly dragging itself higher and higher into the sky, light crept into the house lighting up the hallway a little more than before. "Felix" a small whiper right by my ear made my hair stand up on my neck.

I swiftly turned around to see a dark figure standing at the end of the hallway, "felix~" it hissed in a sing song voice, "w-what do you want" I struggled to keep my composure as my mind went back to the late night news on that serial killer, Mr. Phobia or something, the reporters words rung in my ears, "don't. Show. Fear. No matter what you see he's just trying to lure you towards him he feeds on your fear"

I stood my ground and inhaled a sharp breathe, "felix~ don't you want to tell me something?" As the figure stept into the light I saw zach, his messy black hair glistening in the soft light of the sun, he was beautiful his soft pail skin shined in the light, I loved him but I doubt he'd feel the same way besides he's my best friend and I can't lose my best friend, I need him.

I shook my head a single tear dripping from my eyes, "don't show fear. Don't. Show. Fear. DONT SHOW FEAR." the woman's voice pounded against the inside of my head, it felt like my brain was being split in half, the creature growled before shifting into the shadows disappearing from my view I squined my eyes looking into the shadows trying to see if it was gone, I heared a few clicks and looked out the window, nothing.

I walked down the stairs to see aj sitting on the couch very obviously confused, "yo dude who were you talking to?" I gave him a confused look, "what do you mean, I didn't say anything?" It was better to make him think he imagined it rather than tell him what I saw, he looked off into the distance spaced out. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a cup from the cabinet and filled it with water, I turned to the couch to see aj leaned back and smirking at me, "so where'd you sleep last night?"

He said In a snarky tone I rolled my eyes and flipped him off, "with your mom" "well fuck you too" he laughed, "Whats funny?" Zach said yawning walking down the stairs. I looked at aj and he looked at me with a grin, "bitch don't I swear to god" aj ignored my pleas, "so zachy.. how was sleeping with princess oli" zachs face flushed a soft pink as he looked over and stared at me, "i, uh. He slept in the recliner we didn't even sleep in the bed together so shut up aj" Zach was talking at an unusually fast speed, I broke out into laughter as Zach started glaring at me and aj as soon as aj started laughing too, "bro calm down I was joking" aj said inbetween laughs.

Zach walked down the stairs the rest of the way and walked past me into the kitchen, he opened the fridge door and grabbed a beer, "yo zach pass me one too" aj called from the living room, Zach closed the fridge door and walked into the living room flipping aj off as he sat on the couch a couple cushions away from aj, aj rolled his eyes and looked at me as if asking if I could grab one for him, I flipped him off and walked to the couch I sat down I between Zach and aj, "assholes" aj mumbled under his breath.

I grinned at his comment Zach struggled to hide his smile, "hey what do you guys wanna do today?" Aj said looking back and forth between me and Zach, "skate park?" "Robbing stores?" "Shut up dumbass" I laughed as Zach and aj conversated, I sat In silence spaced out for a few minutes as aj and Zach kept spewing out ideas, "we should break into the old asylum" my voice cut Zach and aj off as they both turned to me and stared, suddenly aj flung his head around to Zach, "best fucking idea ever" they both yelled in unison, the sudden loudness made me shiver as its echo bounced around the house it hitting each wall before finally disappearing.

But that's when I heared it once again, "click"
"Click"
"CLICK"
the sound rung in my ears making my brain throb, I winced in pain as I clutched my head trying to stop the echo of the sound from bouncing around any longer, "f..li.." I heared a small voice from under the pounding in my head, "fe...ix" the voice got louder and more clear, "felix!" I snapped back into reality the pain that was just consuming my brain was gone just as quickly as it came, "hey you okay?" I looked up and saw oliver holding both my shoulders while aj stared at me worryingly, "yeah..sorry my head just really hurt" the words stumbled out of my mouth as I gasped for air, my whole body was shaking I dont want to tell them what happened they don't need to know it's not their problem. But I fear in the end it's going to be all of our problems, I can't shield them from this forever but I can damn sure try.
