Normally, if a person is still in a dream, then all the things expected in reality will be fulfilled, but people would also wake up at the moment of fulfillment.
ShiWen's clasped hand felt warm and real, and the words he had just said kept repeating in his mind. ShiWen looked at ShangYu nervously. He wanted to speak, he opened his mouth several times, but no word came out.
He was terrified that it was a dream, but he was also afraid that it wasn't. On ShangYu's face it was an unfamiliar sense of gentleness and patience as if he wasn't in hurry to get an answer. Their hand rubbed against each other, and ShiWen's soft hand occasionally trembled, revealing his nervousness.
The minutes ticked by, and the air conditioner kept blowing into ShiWen making the hair on his skin prickle. ShangYu worried that ShiWen might catch a cold, he could not wait for the answer, but he endured the tension in his heart, let go of his hand, and took the coat at the bedside.
"It's alright lovely." He wrapped his suit around ShiWen's thin torso, ShangYu's voice was as smooth as ever, he turned the air conditioner up a bit, and poured a cup of water for ShiWen. The glass of water with white mist was clutched by ShiWen's gnarled fingers. ShangYu kissed ShiWen's forehead, " If you're not sure about it, take your time. It's okay. I'm in no rush."
"......'k." ShiWen quietly sniffled.
The room fell into a comfortable silence, ShangYu knelt beside him, occasionally coaxing him into drinking some more water. ShangYu stood up to pour him another glass when he was almost done.
"I...", ShiWen snuffled, ShangYu heard a soft sob from the teen in front of him, drops of tear rolled down ShiWen's pointed chin and dropped on his palm. The cold drop of water seemed to turn to fire once touching his skin, burning along his skin to his heart, he trembled at this feeling, "it's just a dream...or hallucination...isn't it?"
"It's not," ShangYu pulled the crying ShiWen into his arm and kissed his forehead softly.
How much did he have to hurt this person to make him cry like this after hearing a simple " will you date me? "
The Alpha pheromone was lingering between their nose and calming his unstable mood, ShiWen laid his head on ShangYu's shoulder, and after a while, he said, sniffling, "... You're not going to lie to me, are you?"
"I won't, " ShangYu carefully kissed his forehead, "I never will...not anymore."
The intertwine pheromones pull them closer to each other. ShangYu lifted his chin, and they kissed. Between their lips was the salty taste of tears. Bright sunlight peeped in through the curtain, the sun glistened on their hands, warm and dapple. ShangYu asked again, softly, when they broke free from the kiss. ShiWen's eyelashes quivered slightly, his shaking pupils were filled with fear of uncertainty. Yet he answered, after half a minute of hesitation, he whispered.
"Yes, I'd loved to."
