This song could have ruled the listener. It could have made the listener commit the most atrocious of crimes, it could have lead with deceit, nightmares and empty promises. But it did not. Instead it gently offered itself to the girl below the willow, she felt it as if it reached a hand out and simply offered her a peaceful rest, and a sweet dream.
This song, that the girl embraced, told a story of comfort and relaxation, sweeping her body in a blanket of numb darkness, and taking her mind to a place of tranquility and magic.
This song gave Aldwyn a dream of a captivating girl.
The creature in the water sings so quietly, she is barely even humming. Because she knows she isn't allowed to.
-But if the girl doesn't hear or remember anything then it is okay, right?-
She thinks to herself, excusing the rather forbidden action. Lærke could simply not help it any longer, seeing the beautiful girl on land be so miserable. So she sings as quiet as possible hoping that a bit of rest might make the heavy burden of her heart seem a bit lighter. Lærke dives back under the water as she finishes her song, intending to escape to the depts, where the crystals carrying the sunlight from the south of Ran, and giving the lakes of the marsh their silvery shine, exists. She lets a few bubbles out of her mouth in a spontaneous laugh, as she thinks of the broken rule and little adventure she has just been on.
-But her eyes, how could I ever say no to such eyes-
She thinks to herself dreamily as she swims towards her home. Home, deep down under through the tunnels in the depts of the green lake, to the caves. But at once, something is holding her back, something lurking in the edge of her mind, a thought, memory, something very important that she cant quite grasp again. She basks her tail softly against the long seaweed, surrounding her as she stops up. A flounder floats by and Lærke follows it with her eyes, momentarily distracted from whatever it is she is trying to remember. The flounders scales gleams with a cold silvery shine.
-Cold!-
Lærke exclaims to herself, scaring the flounder away.
-Land people feel the cold! how can I leave her up there surrounded by the cold, wet fog? Those yelling folks are also surely looking for her! How can I leave her weakened by the cold, I mean, they might wish to harm her! And she is sleeping! she stands no change, Where has my mind gone, thinking I'm helping her. Where has your mind truly gone Lærke.-
