Chapter 8

Mckenzies pov|

*one month later*

"I don't see why I can't go with him." I whined to my mom for the 1000th time.

"Your only 17. You were just gone for two months for Cyberstar. I don't know That Jack kid too well. Is that enough reasoning?" She laughed.

"You've met Jack. You said he was nice." I shrugged, taking a drink of my dr pepper.

"I said he was nice. That doesn't mean I'll let you go on vacation with him." Her phone beeped, signaling yet another, text.

"Who is that you've been texting and smiling at your phone like that?" I knitted my eyebrows together.

"Oh, Kenzie, it's a guy I met on a business trip." She smiled to herself. "His name is Nathan. He has a boy. His name is Shawn? I think. But anyways. They're coming to stay with us for a week. They'll be here tomorrow."

"What?!? You just weren't gonna tell me? Just let them show up on our door step? Why about my input in this whisk thing? What about Masons?" I raised my voice a little.

"Kenz, I was gonna tell you." She rambled.

"Save it mom. Im going to bed." I looked at the clock seeing it was already 10:45.

I went to my room. Changing into some spandex and one of Jacks sweatshirts. I threw my hair up into a messy bun and checked my phone.

2 new messages.

I'll have Jack wrapped around my finger in a maximum of 1 week. He's already falling for me.

I went to look at the other message I had.

I went to Twitter and decided to tweet something to be funny.

@keennzzieee_ you think your cute? Remember when I dislocated your jaw? I'll do it again if I have to.

And after to fell asleep.

"KEEENNNZZIIIEEE." My mom yelled up the stairs and into my room.

"Whaaaaat? " I groaned.

"Get up! Nathan and Shawn will be here in an hour!" My mom laughed.

I groaned again, looking at the clock.

11:45am

I got into the shower.

When I got out, I threw on some casual clothes. Doing my makeup and hair.

I unplugged my phone and walked downstairs.

As if on cue, the doorbell ran when I got to the bottom.

I rolled my eyes and went to get the door.

"Hi! I'm Nathan and this is Shawn. You must be Kelsy?"

I laughed bitterly. "It's Mckenzie."

"Oookay. Well where's your mom?" Nathan got out of the awkward conversation and walked inside.

"The kitchen." I sighed.

He walked in there, leaving Shawn and I alone.

"Hi! I'm Shawn Mendez." The boy smiled. He was about my age and was pretty cute.

Wait, stop. Kenzie you have a boyfriend.

"I'm Mckenzie." I half smiled.

"Pretty name for a pretty girl." He used a cheesy pick up line.

I blushed. I know I did.

What's my problem?

I love Jack.

And Shawns not going to change it.
