Chapter 9

*Mckenzies pov"

•2 days later•

"I got that summer time- summertime sadness. Oh ooooh ohhhh." Shawn sang and played the guitar.

"Oh my lord, Shawn! That was incredible!" I smiled and handed him a $10 dollar bill.

We were in my room and he bet me $10 he could sing better than me.

"Thanks." He blushed.

"I have an idea." I took his phone from him.

"Whoa what are you doing?" He panicked.

"Relax, I'm downloading an app for you. What? Do you have something you don't want me to see on here?" I smirked. 

"No." He blushed.

I was gonna investigate but i decided to stay focused on my main mission.

I opened Vine and created Shawn an account.

"Sing that." I said and held the camera towards him. 

"Okay but I don't see what the need of this is. It seems pretty dumb to me-"

"Oh shut up and sing." I threw a pillow at him.

He laughed and started singing again.

After he was done I captioned the video "Late night singing with McKenzie." And tagged myself.

I uploaded it and then went onto my phone and revined it.

"Well I'm tired, you took my $10, and you're boring me now. So I'm going to bed. Night." I ran my hand through shawns hair and shut my light off.

He left my room whispering "goodnight."

•next morning•

"MCKENZIE GET YOUR ASS OUT OF BED." Mason yelled in my ear.

"What do you want?" I groaned and rolled over.

"Mom and Nathan want us all downstairs." He walked out of my room.

I waked down the stairs and stopped on the last one and yawned.

"Morning sunshine." Nathan smiled.

"Hey." I yawned again and realized everyone else was already sitting on the couch and all eyes were on me.

"Great for you to finally join us." My mom laughed.

I laughed sarcastically.

"Now you're all probably why we would possibly want you down here at 8:00 am. Well, we have an announcement to make." Mom sat next to Nathan and grabbed ahold of his hand.

Now you guys can probably guess what's coming next but it was early in the morning for me and I wasn't fully aware of what was going on yet.

"We're getting married." Nathan said.

At that moment my eyes shot wide open. My jaw dropped as a burning anger was in my heart.

"MOM HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US? WE JUST MET HIM 2 DAYS AGO AND NOW WERE EXPECTED TO LIVE WITH HIM?!" I yelled and ran upstairs before the tears flooding my eyes could fall.

I slammed my door and screamed into my pillow.

I decided I should FaceTime Jack he knows how to make me feel better.

I called him and it rang and rang before his hot morning voice came through my phone.

I picked up the phone so he could see my face. He looked hot because he just woke up. 

"Hey baby, what's up?" He groaned as he rolled over in his bed.

"Sorry if I woke you, I just- I need someone to talk to." I said as tears ran down my face.

He realized I wasn't okay and immediately shot up in his bed.

"Kenz what's wrong?!" He worried.

I told him everything.

"I just can't believe she wou-" I was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Kenz, I came to see how you were doing?" Shawn came in.

"Who's that?" Jack asked.

"This is Shawn. My soon to be step-brother." I introduced them. They seem to hit it off pretty well.

After they talked for like 10 minutes I cleared my throat.

"I'm still here in the middle of a crisis." I slightly giggled.

"Oh right sorry baby." Jack laughed.

"Nice meeting you jack. Hope to talk again soon." Shawn said and walked out of my room.

"So, he seems nice." Jack smiled.

"Jaaaack." I whined. "What should I do?"

"I have an idea." He said. "But it's risky."

"Shoot." I pushed hair out of my face.

"Come live with me. " He asked and blushed. 

"Are you crazy? You're asking me to move in with you?! My mom would freak. " I worried.

"Mckenzie, you're birthdays next week.  you're almost 18. Then your a free woman. You can do what you'd like." He said reminding me.

"Besides, we could get our own condo or apartment, live wherever you'd like. Wouldn't that be nice?"

I thought for about 5 minutes.

"Okay, I'll live with you." I cracked a smile.

"This is going to be great!" He yelled.

"But we'll have to go through my mom first. How soon can you get a ticket here?" I smiled.

"I'll get one right now! I'll be there in a day or two! Love ya Kenz!" He blew a kiss to me.

"Love you to jack!" I hung up.
