Aaron's POV

7:45 Am Mid-Western Time

Clover Prep

The morning chill kisses my face, as I make my way to the bus stop. I can already hear the chatter of the students getting excited for the brand-new day. I wait for people to realize that today isn't all that. It never is all that, maybe it never will be. I shake my shaggy hair trying to keep it out of my eyes. The sun taunts me by coming ever so closely out from behind the clouds. Sometimes the sun just needs to sit his ass down and let it be gray because nobody has time for its-

"AARON!" A shrill voice brings me out of my thoughts and I break away from my hatred for the sun. I shuffle from foot to foot looking for the person who called me. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" The voice screams again a little closer again. I look up and down all around everyone seems to be looking at me. I feel a slow blush creep on my face and I can't help but be embarrassed. This is not the way I saw my first day back going... I think to myself as I continue my way down the street. When I arrive at the big tree another call comes this time I know exactly where from. "HOLD ON I'M COMING DOWN!" I look up to see her curly brown and black hair with hints of highlights her hazel eyes shining with excitement and her freckles like tiny brown stars covering her cheeks and nose. I continue to stare at her I am not amused. She makes her way down every so quickly it seems at no time at all she is standing next to me grinning wildly I can tell she has a whole story to tell me.

"Hi, Cookie..." I mumble forgetting at that moment that this girl or guy in front of me isn't Cookie it can't be. "Charlene," She corrects me not letting it dim her light I can almost think I can hear a hint of an accent but with Cook- I mean Charlene it could be anything. Co- Charlene goes on a whole rampage telling me about this and about that I try to listen but then I start to zone out the squiggles and circles fill the air and soon I am transported to a whole other world. I see fields upon fields upon fields it's only me and the animals that surround me for once it's quiet. I'll have to sketch this when I get home... I think to myself something to look forward to I guess. Alas it doesn't stay long this dream or more of hallucination doesn't stay for very long and I am brought back to where I began.

The bus stop. With Co- Charlene. When I come back mind and body Charlene is staring open-mouthed at something behind me. I turn around to see her just in time to flip her blonde hair and rearrange those special glasses of hers. Courtney smiles at everyone and laughs with random people she is the perfect prom queen. When she sees me staring at her she walks over with a little pip in her step flawless with short (and I mean short) white shorts and a baby blue off-the-shoulder shirt. Her lips are light pink with tiny bits of glitter. "Aaron," She greets me. I nod in hello and she giggles at some joke I apparently had told. Her hand finds my lower bicep and I look at her. We make eye contact and I can see she wants me to say something.

"Courtney," I say, more giggles. I look to Charlene trying to find what's so hilarious that she has to giggle but Charlene must be in on it because she is staring at Courtney with eyes dancing with amusement. Maybe it's a female thing-  I think to myself. The bus makes its way down the road and I use this as my time to escape. I will never understand girls. Sucks that I was born one.
