It was Friday, and Molly and Darryl had just gotten off the bus.
"Whew, what a week!" said Molly. Thank goodness it's the weekend now, eh Darryl?"
"Yeah. I guess." said Darryl sadly
"Darryl? Is everything alright?" asked Molly
"Yeah. Everything's fine." said Darryl
"Are you sure, cuz it doesn't seem like-"
"I SAID EVERYTHING'S FINE OKAY!?" Darryl blurted. "I'm...I'm going to my room."
Darryl went inside. Scratch appeared next to Molly.
"So, I'm no psychologist, but I'm PRETTY sure everything is not *fine*." said Scratch
"Yeah, I agree." said Molly "Something's DEFINITELY wrong."
"So uh, you gonna talk to him, or...?" asked Scratch
"Yeah, I am. He clearly needs it." said Molly "Just give us some space, ok Scratch?"
"Will do. I'll just be stuffing my face in the kitchen if ya need me." said Scratch
Scratch teleported to the kitchen, and Molly went inside. Once inside, Molly sat her stuff down by the door. Pete was still at work, and Sharon was out doing a Gig Pig, so they weren't home. Molly went to Darryl's room, the door of which was closed. She knocked three times.
"Uh, hey Darryl, it's me, Molly." said Molly
"Go away Molly." said Darryl
"Look, I know you're upset. Do you wanna talk about it? Maybe it will help." said Molly
"No Molly, I don't wanna talk about it. Just go away." said Darryl
"Oh please let me in Darryl. I just want to help you. Whatever is bothering you, we can work out together. So please, let me in." said Molly
"*sigh* Fine..." said Darryl
Darryl opened the door and Molly walked in. Darryl then sat on his bed, and Molly sat with him.
"So, what's wrong Darryl?" asked Molly
"Ok, if I tell you, you have to promise me you won't get mad." said Darryl
"Oh Darryl, I'm here to help you. I won't get mad. I promise." said Molly
"Well, ok then. Here." said Darryl
Darryl handed Molly a red sheet of paper. This is what it said. Molly read it out loud.
"REFERRAL SLIP
RECIPIENT: DARRYL McGEE
REASON FOR REFERRAL: Darryl has been VERY misbehaved throughout the week. He put a tack on a teacher's chair, threw water balloons at other students, and intentionally tripped another student with his leg at recess. He has also not been paying attention in class, and instead of doing schoolwork, he has been talking and goofing off in class as well as seemingly making drawn plans for more pranks.
Darryl has been told countless times that school is no place for pranks, and has been told to stop. He has been repeatedly warned of the consequences for his actions, but has not heeded these warnings. The safety of students and staff is our top priority here at Brighton Middle School, and the recent pranks pulled by Darryl have been very dangerous.
And so, it has been decided that Darryl will be given the most severe referral level the school has, which is red referral. The red referral is in effect all week, which means Darryl will lose a week's worth of recess, will have lunch detention everyday, and will have after school detention everyday as well.
