My name is Sky Romanoff and I am an Avenger. I am twenty-three years old and am anything but normal, much to my pleasure. I grew up with two undercover spies as my "parents" and my older sister Natasha Romanoff. By the time I was 8 my sister and I were sent off to a secret organization The Red Room which our "parents" worked for. From then on I was split from my sister and trained in combat, coding, and anything needed to become a lethal assassin.
When I turned 16, I was sent to another undercover organization hell-bent on destroying the world known as Hydra. This is the closest thing to a school trip I ever got to experience which is very sad in retrospect. The Red Room decided that many of their Widows, the name of their many assassins such as myself, were not good enough just being kickass fighters, we also had to have powers.
During my time with Hydra, I was treated as a test guinea pig. I was completely alone until I met two other people that were being experimented on. They were twins that were around my age, Wanda and Pietro. We spent months supporting each other after any specifically rough "sessions'' with the "doctors''. After being heavily experimented on, Pietro developed increased metabolism and improved thermal homeostasis. Wanda gained neural electric interfacing, telekinesis, and mental manipulation. While I developed the ability to manipulate the thermal and physical state of H2O. To put it simply; Pietro is fast, Wanda is weird and I'm Elsa.
After 6 months in that hell hole, I was split up from Wanda and Pietro and sent on a mission to gather information on the Avengers per The Red Room's request. Long story short, I did not return The Red Room or Hydra, instead I was recruited by the Avengers.
The moment that I saw Natasha with her red hair while I was undercover, I was blown away that I finally found my sister. She started yelling at me in Russian demanding where I went, let's just say that the feelings were mutual.
From then I moved in with the Avengers and quickly grew close with all of them. I was hesitant around Tony at first due to what Wanda and Pietro told me about his technology killing their parents until Tony explained how it wasn't him that initiated or approved those missile launches. Tony loved calling me Elsa due to my powers, I got him back by freezing his technology constantly.
Fast forward 6 months and we are all on the Quinjet heading to another Hydra base looking for Loki's scepter, everyone on the team is aware of my experience with Hydra so I usually try to not enter the compounds and just fight from outside. Like usual before a Hydra mission, I find my mind wandering back to Pietro and Wanda. I always kept an eye out for either of my Sokovian friends but so far I have come up short on each mission.
I remember the nights I would spend with Pietro and Wanda, they would often sneak into my cell, Pietro would faze in and Wand would use her powers. We spent hours talking about our dreams after we got out of there. They knew I was not there of my own will, even though they volunteered they did not enjoy the cells and such, for obvious reasons. I spent that last night asleep on the ground of my cell. Usually, Wanda and Pietro return to their sleep so we don't get in trouble.
On the last night I was there Pietro snuck back into my room after everyone was asleep, "You know you should be in your cell. God forbid one of the guards sees you in here we will be sent to different floors." I warned him as he began taking off his shoes.
"Well, that is a risk I am willing to take for you Princesa," He winked at me as he climbed into my tiny cot and we fell asleep in each other's arms.
During the last month with them, my feelings toward Pietro had been developing beyond friendship, I didn't even get to say goodbye. I just remember falling asleep to the rhythm of his heart as my head rested on his chest.
I am snapped out of my daydream by a certain star-spangled man. "Sky are you even listening to this briefing?!" Steve asks, already knowing the answer.
"Let me guess," Tony begins. "You were daydreaming about-"
"Nothing to your concern Stark," I interrupt him before he goes into a large rant about god knows what. "Sorry, Steve you were saying."
As Steve continues briefing the team on our individual roles in this mission my sister sitting beside me nudges my rib cage before whispering in my ear. "If I didn't know any better I would say that you may be blushing Sky Romanoff."
"If I didn't know any better I would say that is entirely inaccurate and improbable due to my abilities," I mumble back. Yet I make sure to take a sip of water and subtly splash some cool water on my face before stepping out of the jet.
As we take positions around the base Tony cheers in our com system. "Let's kick some ass!"
"Shit!"
"Language!"
Oh the joy of always having our mics on during missions.
"Wait a minute, nobodies going to acknowledge the fact that Cap just said language?" Tony fires at the team.
I roll my eyes as Steve responds out of breath. "I know. It just slipped out."
"I swear you two need couples counseling." Natasha comments.
"I could not agree mo-" I stop dead in my tracks as I see a blue blur run past a tree from the corner of my eye. "Dear God please," I mumble out of breath from the sight I just saw as I pray I did not imagine it.
"Sky everything ok?" Clint asks over the com system.
"Good job everyone, meet back at the jet in a few minutes," Steve says over the coms.
Just as I log off of coms I see the blur reappear, I turn the snow ahead of him into liquid then ice within moments causing him to slip and run into a tree. Finally, I can see the individual from behind and I run over to them as my thoughts are confirmed.
"And here I thought you would have been more graceful after 6 months of practice," I tease as the individual in front of me freezes.
"Well, it gets a little challenging when your best friend disappears leaving you with your crazy twin to babysit," He says as he turns around and I sprint into his open arms. "God I missed you Princesa."
"That makes two of us," I tell him, as I exhale in relief of being in his arms. "At every base, we went to I kept looking for you but I didn't find you until now. I am so sorry I didn't find you guys sooner After I was sent back to The Red Room I was sent on a mission and..."
Pietro cuts off my rambling as he looks over my face and arms to make sure I am not injured. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm on a mission with the Avengers. After The Red Room took me back they sent me on a mission to gather information about the Avengers but I couldn't go back. I saw my sister Natasha who works with them, remember I told you guys about her? Where is Wanda?"
I turn around as I hear a familiar voice chuckle. "Right behind you."

I'M BACK! I'm so excited to be back writing and I have some ideas for future stories already. Now that summer is coming I should be able to write way more.
With my school this term we had to write a survival short story so, of course, I wrote one about Marvel with Sky Romanoff as the main character which totally got me inspired to get back into writing. I will add that short survival story to this book later on hopefully.
Until next chapter everyone.
