Sky POV

Half an hour later I retreat to my shower in order to clean up for Tony's party, as I open my bathroom door I see an eager Nat looking at me with two dresses in hand.

"What's your color? Dark blue or Burgundy?" She inquired as she laid the short dresses on my bed.

I roll my eyes at her antics as I joke. "You tell me."

She grabs my hairdryer to get ready faster than normal before confidently stating. "Burgundy."

"That was rhetorical FYI," I laugh before Nat asks me a question that causes me to sober up.

"So, what's your past with these Hydra twins?" Nat knew that she was sailing into rocky water with me so she was treading lightly.

I caved, knowing there was no point in fighting this. "The boy and I sorta had a potential thing but then I was dragged away to the Red Room, once again," I grumble while Nat straightens my wavy hair.

Nat opened her mouth to ask something else but I interrupted her. "And before you ask, both of them are incredible people. They are not brainwashed Hydra weapons."

She can tell that is as much as I will talk so she sighs and resigns to adding a tint of blush to my cheeks. A thought pops into my head which makes me smirk. "So you and Banner?"

An hour later Nat and I are entering the party in time to set up behind the bar.

Bruce walks over to the bar, Nat decides to have some fun with him and flirt up a storm. Soon after I resigned to the patio with a glass of champagne at hand. "There is my favorite Romanoff!" someone says over my shoulder.

I don't even need to turn around to know it is Tony after a few drinks. "I could smell you from across the room Stark."

"Well somebody on this team has to set an example of how to let loose," Tony flaunts as he comes over to stand beside me. "Especially with, well you know Capsicle being captain of the team."

After a few more minutes of making comedic small talk Clint comes out with a drum stick in hand, "Hey guys, most guests are gone so we are gonna chill inside if you want to join."

Tony looks at me before imitating a bow and British accent. "Would you give me the uttermost pleasure of escorting you inside madame?"

"Well sir, I suppose this occasion would be appropriate," I respond as we loop arms and walk inside laughing.

I sit down next to Steve with a yawn as I rest my head on his shoulder. After I joined the team, Steve definitely took me under his wing a bit and always liked to look out for me.

I remember the first night I spent in the tower, I kept three weapons on my bedside table and two under my pillow just in case Hydra or the Red Room would come knocking on my door. I had a bad nightmare that night about Pietro and Wanda hating me for staying with the Avengers, Steve woke me up that night and didn't leave my side. The next morning we went to the gym in the tower and trained for hours, getting to know each other as I dropped my guard bit by bit.

A certain god of thunder interrupts my reminiscing. "Well please, be my guest."

"Come on." Tony agrees eagerly.

Clint looks at the hammer hesitantly. "Really?"

"Yeah!" Thor cheers.

As Barton goes to the hammer I laugh and mumble to Steve. "They are such idiots."

Steve laughs as puts an arm around my shoulder. "Couldn't have said it better myself kid."

Rhody pulls out his camera in anticipation. "Oh, this is gonna be beautiful."

After a lot more sarcastic comments Clint finally tries to pull the hammer up and fails after attempting a dozen times. Tony is the next to the 'challenge', when he fails his first attempt he runs off and returns with some parts from his suit and gets Rhodey to help him.

Rhodey and Tony bicker as they exert their energy in a losing battle. "Just represent! Pull!" They both fail to do so.

After Bruce fails to hulk out and lift the hammer I push Steve over to the hammer. "Let's go Steve! No pressure." I cheer. Steve starts pulling on the hammer and manages to budge it a little; Thor looks a little alarmed. "It moved!" I hop up and give him an enthusiastic hug.

Bruce, who is sitting next to Nat, inquires. "Widow 1? Widow 2"

Nat laughs before taking a sip of her beer. "Oh, no-no. That's not a question I need answered."

"Ya I will preserve my dignity thank you very much," I agree as everyone sits down. "Besides I am way too young to rule a realm if I was to be worthy."

An alarming sound booms over all our voices until we hear something whisper, "Worthy... No, how could you be worthy? You're all killers."

Steve stands up first and puts me behind him much to my protest. "Stark?!"

To my surprise, Tony is not entirely confused like the rest of us. "JARVIS!"

This metal bot scratches his head, "I'm sorry, I was asleep. Or... I had a a-dream?" Tony mumbles something into his glasses as the bot continues to speak. "There was a terrible noise... and I was tangled in... in... strings. I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy."

We all try to inquire more about this bot until he plays a video that explains his origin To our surprise it is a video of Tony telling Bruce. "I see a suit of armor around the world."

Bruce realizes who the bot is soon after. "Ultron!"

"In the flesh. Or, no, not yet. Not this... chrysalis. But I'm ready. I'm on a mission." Ultron laughs.

Natasha doesn't let that comment slip. "What mission?"

Ultron looks at all of us with a glare. "Peace in our time."

The next thing I know the walls explode and several Iron Legion bots barge into the room and begin attacking our team, we go on the defensive and fight back. Considering everyone is slightly intoxicated, I'd say we are holding our own. That is until I get knocked through a window.

"SKY!" I hear Nat scream as I crash through the glass and begin to free fall.

I strop abruptly as Steve grabs my arm and pulls me up with a grunt of effort. "I got you kid."

Steve and I soon recover, quickly preparing to fight but all the bots disappeared. Nat rushed over to us and pulls me into a hug.

The team hurries to the lab and is shocked by the destroyed state of Starks technology. My mind is still reeling from the events that just unfolded in our obnoxiously huge living room until I come back into the conversation.

"Does anyone remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?" Tony boasts.

Rhodey laughs in irritation. "No, it's never come up."

Tony continues to push. "Saved New York?"

"Never heard of that," I mumble.

"Recall that? A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing three hundred feet below it. We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the livelong day, but, that up there? That's... that's the end game. How were you guys planning on beating that?" Tony pushes, trying to get everyone on his side.

"Together," Steve responds with confidence.

"We'll lose." Tony groans.

Steve channels his inner captain as he lectures, "Then we'll do that together, too. Thor's right. Ultron's calling us out. And I'd like to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place. Let's start making it smaller."
