"NO! SOMEBODY HELP!" Jisung's loud shrieks woke Hyunjin and Felix up.
"DON'T BITE ME, YOU SHIT. GO AWAY!" He screamed in his sleep. With everything going on, Jisung couldn't help but get nightmares. Nightmares about how he turned into one of them.
"Jisung, it's okay. It's a dream, wake up. Wake up Han, you're fine" Hyunjin slightly shook Jisung, trying to wake him up from whatever awful dream he was having.
Felix grabbed the towel from the bed post and wiped off the sweat beads forming on Jisung's forehead before running his hands through his hair and waking him up. After slight stiring, he finally woke up and sat upright, heaving a sigh of relief.
"That was a fucking scary dream" These were the first words that rolled off his tongue.
"Are you okay?" The other two boys asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just keep seeing that scenario from the mart where the creatures had rushed in while everyone was shopping. The whole place had turned hell in mere minutes. Thankfully, I hid behind the counter" Jisung explained, remembering that day when he saw the gory scene. The absolute thought of it made him shut his eyes tightly.
"Don't worry, Hannie. We're all safe here" Hyunjin reassured him, rubbing his back as Jisung looked at the two boys with fondness. He'd only known them for a short time but they made him feel home.
After freshening up, the three boys exited the room to find everyone else busy with some work or the other. Half of them were trying to make breakfast with limited resources and the other half were dividing the remaining food accordingly to see how many days they can last with the given supply.
"How many days can we last?" Felix asked, walking up to Changbin.
"I think around a week. We can hold out for a week" Changbin told the boys.
"That's fine then. I mean, who knows the situation might get better in a week" Hyunjin said hopefully, not entirely sure if that was possible.
The others just nodded faintly. None of them were sure if things would get better. If anything, they saw the possibilities of everything just getting only worse. However, they still had to keep this little hope.
A little hope that could help them survive and go on.
Because, what's the point of living with no hope?
"I think I should check the news." Chan announced, switching the television on. However, all he could see was a static screen with a notice reading 'No Signal'.
"So the television services are shut down too.." He sighed.
"How the fuck are we supposed to get the updates now?" Jeongin let out in frustration.
"Well, for now let's try to be safe. I'm sure they'll send rescuers later" Jihye said. Coming from the Special Mission Forces, she knew how the government would certainly send help to the survivors.

Later that night after dinner, everyone departed to their rooms. Chaewon and Jihye were talking to each other when Chan exited the washroom after taking a shower.
"This feels so much better after a tiring day" Chan exclaimed, referring to how the water seemed to calm his nerves. The others couldn't agree more.
While he talked to the girls about something or the other, Minho joined them too. The four of them talked for about an hour, discussing about how to go on for the next few days.
Two hours since they had all retired to bed and Jihye couldn't sleep. She kept tossing and turning until she gave up and went to the kitchen to drink some water. While she poured some water in a cup, Minho crept up from behind and whispered lazily in her ear.
"Can't sleep?"
This almost made Jihye drop the water and she, as a quick reflex, turned around with her fist enclosed, ready to punch whoever tried to scare the shit out of her. Minho, on the other hand, defensively brought his arms up to protect himself from Jihye's fist.
"Geez Minho, I almost broke your nose" Jihye sighed.
"Oh, so even when you're shit scared, the first thing you do is punch the fuck outta the other person?" Minho scoffed as Jihye shrugged her shoulders.
"I almost dropped the water because of you. If it had gone waste, I would've definitely punched you then" She remarked, carefully closing the bottle and keeping it back at its place.
Water was a luxury for them at the point. They had to use it as minimal as possible and so wasting even a drop of it wasn't something they could afford.
"I'm sorry, I was just messing around"
"Yeah be thankful I didn't bruise your pretty face accidently" Jihye rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, thanking the stars right now" Minho chuckled.
"Why are you awake?" Jihye asked, sitting on the kitchen counter.
"Just couldn't sleep. I kept tossing and turning around" Minho said, sitting beside Jihye.
"Yeah same"
"Chaewon bitch stays wide awake the whole night on other days but had to fall asleep today when I needed someone to keep me company" Jihye scoffed.
"That's good in a way. See, how we get to spend time together like this when everyone is fast asleep. How romantic" Minho sent a smirk Jihye's way.
"If that's your attempt at flirting, you're terrbile" Jihye deadpanned.
"Geez, not you ruining such a romantic mood"
"Okay then, let's go sit near the balcony and talk. The moonlight will make shit romantic" Jihye said, half- joking.
"It indeed will. Let's go" Minho jumped off the counter and wrapped an arm around Jihye's waist before she could get off too. Jihye looked at him who gazed right into her eyes, swiftly pulling her down and yet not letting her go. We're too damn close-
"Would you still say I'm terrible at this?" He whispered to her before finally letting her go and walking away to the balcony while Jihye took in a breathe she didn't know she was holding.
Lee Minho, the things you do to me
The next morning, Chaewon came up to Jihye, who was busy helping Seungmin clean the kitchen.
"Ji, we need to do something about the trash or it'll start rotting now and give off an awful smell" It had been days that they hadn't taken out the trash but they knew it wasn't any safe leaving home and going out.
"We do have a trashcan at the end of the hallway, don't we?" Seungmin suggested.
"Yeah but the exit door comes right before it. We don't know if it's safe to leave home and go out"
"Let's build a barricade then. Let's block the exists and check the rooftop" Jihye suggested.
"Well, time for some real work then"
