Insecurities.

I look up worried for my reputation with the seniors. Darn it. I was just making a good first impression and this guy had to make another scene. Fuck you Niki!!

"Niki, please. Stop making another scene!" I whisper so it is only audible for him. 

"Is this your boyfriend? What a shame." Ha-joon seonbae says to me. Shit. Screw you Niki!

"no no! I-" I get cut off by Niki putting his arm weight on my shoulder. 

"What if I am? Were you trying to court her?" Niki says with a confident look displayed on his face. I cringe at this and use all my might to finally take Niki's are off my shoulder as it started to become uncomfortable. 

"Your one confident young man huh?" Ha-joon says directly to Niki's face. Some of the other seniors tell Ha-joon seonbae to stop or just hit his shoulder. I nervously gulp and think about any possible solutions. Stopping Niki is almost impossible because of his raging male ego. Wait. I have a great idea!

"Lemme just-" I say while walking slowly off to the line. I take a sigh of relief and look at the notes I took for the drinks. I order the drinks cautiously of the situation literally right behind me and pay. 

"Ok since Hyejin is here we can start the meeting. And thank you for the drinks!" One of the seniors say while I pull up a chair next to Jake and across from Niki. 

"Okay My name is Seojin and I will be in charge of the food stations. So Hyejin, Niki, Jake, and Mijoo are in the food section of the festival, correct?" the pretty senior says. 

"Yes!" I say with cheer. 

"Yup." Jake says. 

"Yea." Niki replies. We all look at Mijoo for an answer waiting for her to reply. 

"I don't want to do it if Hyejin is going to." Mijoo says. I look back at her with a astonished look with my jaw dropped to the floor. WTF? What did I do? Well I did put her in her place but...

"Oh, so you don't want to do food, Mijoo?" Seojin unnie says calmly. 

"No I do but not with that bitch." Mijoo says pointing at me. Everyone's eyes become glued to me making me me awkwardly look at the floor. 

"So what your saying is you want me to kick Hyejin out? After she's been so sweet?" Seojin unnie interrogates Mijoo. 

"She's a two faced slut so yes I do want to kick her out." Mijoo says seriously. Ouch. That hurt. I haven't even been in a relationship before though...

"If your gonna kick Hyejin out then I'm calling it quits." Niki adds making everyone even more confused. 

"Same here. I was only doing this for Hyejin." Jake says making me hit his arm with a 'are you serious' look. 

"Uhm wow. Okay. Mijoo we can't just kick her out so she's staying and if you have a problem with that you can leave." seojin unnie says sheepishly.  

"Ugh fine. I'll stay." Mijoo says angerly while crossing her arms. 

"Hyejin. Don't listen to Mijoo. She doesn't know what she's talking about." Jake whispers into my ear while patting my back. I put a fake smile on so he doesn't get bothered by me. 

"Okay anyway, so please by the next week choose what food you want to sell. Don't forget it has to be cost effective, and cheap so we can feed lots of people for cheap. But we also want it to be good. You can buy it or make it, it doesn't matter." Seojin unnie says to us. I try to focus on the meeting but all I can think about is my insecurities. Mijoo wouldn't make such comments if it wasn't true right? Maybe I should change myself?

The meeting goes on for a bit while I drift into my thoughts. The only words I remember is performers, games, and whatever else was said. 

"This meeting is over right?" I hear a familiar voice say. I snap out of my thoughts just for a second to see Niki already up and ready to leave. 

"Uh yea. That's all guys. Thanks for coming and see you again this next Monday!" Seojin unnie says. Before I can open my mouth to greet them goodbye my arm gets pulled out of my chair. 

I yelp and follow the person out the door and on a secluded sidewalk with beautiful trees. Fucking Niki again?

"Ouch. What do you want." I say in a cold tone. 

"Please Hyejin. I'm sorry. I feel so terrible for the big misunderstanding. Please just don't ignore me." Niki pleads while trying to hold both my hands. 

"Fine. Niki you win. I tried to ignore you and move on but you keep involving yourself with me. I admit, maybe if I put better boundaries this wouldn't have happened. But please just ignore me and act like I'm not even alive. I'm just gonna bring you misfortune." I admit. I thought it would feel great to get off my chest. Nope. 

"Hyejin I don't want to win. I want you. I want to spend real quality time with you for the rest of our lives. Are you so ignorant that you can't see my feelings?" Niki says to me, slightly raising his voice. I tightly close my eyes shut while he does. 

"Niki I just don't know anymore. I don't know if I can trust you. Or anyone at that." I say. 

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get mad and raise my voice." Niki apologizes like a child. Although I am in a cloud of emotion I start giggling at his apology. 

"Are you still mad?" Niki asks cheerfully. 

"No... But if you really like me you gotta step up your game!" I joke. 

"Quick question. Is there something going on between you and Ha-joon?" Niki asks shyly. 

"Why? Are you jealous? Maybe we are dating!" I jokingly say. 

Niki steps closer and closer to me until our faces are only inches apart. 

"Yea. I am jealous. That's because I only have eyes for you. No one compares to you." Niki says in a deep voice making me gulp out of awkwardness. 

"ok ok I get it! Now please stay in your personal bubble!" I yell while pushing his chest away. I try to walk away but he catches up to me and wraps his arm around me. 

"Ahhh I missed this. Don't worry Park Hyejin I will give you my last name soon!" Niki says while giggling. 

"Your so weird! Get away from me!!" I say jokingly while running away. He chases after me laughing his head off.
