They stared at each other with unbelieving eyes. Too stunned to utter a single word like their brains has stopped working for awhile.

Awed. Katoka thought Iruka's flushed face wouldn't get redder but it did from being dumbfounded until she realized that Iruka seemed to have stopped functioning holistically.

" Hey-- breathe! Don't stop breathing, Iruka-sensei! "
She shook him, consoling him that what he had revealed isn't much of a big deal and that it's okay.

" Why in the heavens is that okay?? I deserve to be punished!"
And Iruka wailed like a restrained child, his eyes trickled with tears as he felt like being forsaken by the heaven.

Panicked. Katoka was unable to find the right words to console Iruka. She was beyond astonished from hearing it like it is unbelievable news. Initially, she thought nothing  important or quite unfavorable happened between them, evaluating the situation of Kakashi fleeing away and Iruka's troubled expression but knowing that they actually went down and dirty-- what seems to be the problem from that?

" Even if they're not in their sane mind but they like each other so----wait! Could it possibly..."
Rattled from her own thoughts, Katoka immediately asked Iruka.

" Just wait a minute, Iruka-sensei! Did the two of you...??"

" W-What?"

She blinked for awhile then shook him by the shoulder. Being unanswered by Iruka-sensei, she ended up using her mind invasion ability to read his thoughts but all she discerned was the useless complaints and self-loathing words that relentlessly ran through in circles in his mind.

Defeated. She distanced herself and let Iruka wailed for awhile.

" Err..."

" Are you done, hmm?"

" Uh... I'm so ashamed..."
Iruka then looked down. He finally calmed down in the outside but his mind was still in turmoil and constant anxiety. Until a hand patted him gently.

" You know what? It's done so it's futile to hate yourself... It's not like you have killed someone. Weigh it more, alright?"
And Iruka silently agreed with her, he remained silent for awhile and let his head to be patted.

" Now, I'd like to ask you something, hmm?"

" What is it, Katoka-san?"

And Katoka sighed suddenly then gently smiled,

" Don't freak out, okay?"

Iruka flinched. Katoka seemed stern about something although a sweet smile was painted in her visage.

" Yes... What is it t-then?"

Suddenly, Katoka chuckled and put her palm in her chain then expressed,

" It seems it's wrong to tell you to calm down as from hearing it, you start to tremble more. "

" What are you gonna ask me t-then?"
Iruka persisted and for a second he catched Katoka's eyes in a different light.

" Don't start to stress, Iruka-sensei. I'm only curious if by any chance... You already confess, haven't you?"

It took a few seconds or a minute before the question sank in.

Katoka eyed him sternly like burning holes but the other looked clueless like it's the most unprecedented question of the night, he was shocked but he told himself not to freak out per se Katoka's request to him.

"Confess... to tell him... I like him, I love him...?"
Iruka processed the question slower than a striding turtle.

" Oh!"
Katoka flinched from Iruka's sudden " Oh" . She wondered what does it mean but waited for more answer, hopefully a positive answer but-

" No. "

At the Godaime's office.

Kakashi handed the documents, the subject of the mission. Apparently, he was asked immediately as to why he left Katoka and Iruka but he remained silent likely refusing an answer.

" But they're fine, right? Nothing bad happen?"
The Godaime assured,

" Yes, of course. "
Kakashi replied with evading eyes. It's clear to the Godaime that something happened to the mission so she inquired again.

" I supposed you trusted Katoka and her skills to left Iruka-sensei to her but it's still unjust to went ahead of them, you know well, a mission doesn't go like that. "

" I... -I apologized, Godaime. "

" So, what really happened, Kakashi?"
The Godaime insisted in knowing the trouble behind Kakashi's expression.

" It's nothing... Just something p- personal and whatnot. "
The other persisted as it followed another subject relating to the mission.

" You can call it a day for now. Rest. "

" Okay. Then I'll excuse myself, Godaime. "
Immediately, Kakashi turned around and almost leaving when the Godaime suddenly spoke again,

" I ain't giving you more missions, Kakashi. So... as a friendly advice, take your time to sort out your personal affairs. "

At once, Kakashi flinched and stopped in his steps. Without turning to the Godaime and he nodded his head then finally left for good.

He can't stop thinking but why does it seem as the people around him knows his heart more than himself...

To the hallway, he saw Yamato hurrying in his stride but then surprised when he saw him and greeted cheerfully,

" Kakashi-senpai, you're back! Thanks for the hardwork!"
But Kakashi was too occupied and exhausted from his thoughts, he barely noticed the cheerful Yamato, he ended up ignoring him and walked past him like a stranger.

" Err--"
Yamato blinked for seconds, he was shocked to be ignored and the next thing he do is to run quickly to the Godaime's office.

With a little force, he opened the door and with a hysterical expression asked the Godaime,

" Was it a mission failed? "

" No.. and yes?"

" Eh? What does that mean, Godaime? "
Yamato become more perplexed from the situation and the Godaime only sighed.

" You can see from his face, right? "

" Yes! He even ignored me!"

" Right. And you know, he went ahead of Katoka and Iruka. I can say that rather settling their feelings... Maybe things between them got worse? "
