Weeks had passed and I got to know the place I was to now call home. I met the family my new family shared the house with, they had a little girl the same age as me her name was Davina. She was my new best friend, I had never had a best friend before. She had muddy brown eyes and brown hair. Davina resembled a deer with her round face and floppy deer like ears that had a small hoop like earring in the left one.
In the morning, the house hand helped me by waking me up, getting me bathed and dressed, doing my hair, putting pigment from flowers on my almond shaped eyes, and making me breakfast.
In the weeks of being there I had started school, every morning Davi and I would walk all the way to the edge of the land by a running creek in the cover and shade of the willow trees and vines, on a bottom of a hill.
I had learned of the magic and the history of a land that I would soon come to hate.
I loved the year that I was in for school, the magic still so new so fascinating. Everything was new and I was in love.
Have you ever heard of the saying blinded by love; well, I was so in love with my new home I could not see that I was not wanted or welcomed.
Mrs. Groves our teacher, she had slight green skin her face was skinny as you could see her cheek bones when her face was relaxed. As she finished her walk holding her books in one arm up to her chest and her walk and dress, she was one of the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Her green hair was a bit darker that her was placed up on her head in an elegant way a few curls had falling out. As she walked to the front of the mossy area where we sat for our lessons, she examined us looking from the left to the right.
She had sat right in front of me with her legs crossed she put on of the fallen curls behind her ear before, she opened the top book in her lap looking up at us to do the same. Mrs. Grover had looked me right in the eyes with a smile and I could feel heat coming on my face when she asked me to read the page.
