"Blitzø... Can I take off the blindfold now?" You asked, trying to keep your patience from wearing so thin it snaps.
"Nope!"
"Oh, come on! What are you going to show me??"
"It's a surprise.." you felt the grip on your hand tighten for a second.
The temperature got weirdly colder... Now you were really curious. The ground became soft. It was obvious that you were in the human world now... No way this was hell anymore. Well, not your hell. But where was Blitzø taking you?? The wind around you was just fast enough to hear in the trees, moving the leaves slightly. You had no idea where you were, but.. you wanted to trust Blitzø. Besides, what's the point of a relationship without trust? Kid's shows taught you that!
"Okay... Take it off!" he said enthusiastically. You spent no time stalling and ripped off the blindfold. Both of you stood at the top of a hill, the grass the darkest and richest shade of green you had ever seen.. at least, from what you could tell. It was dark besides the bright moon shining on the cliff. You noticed a crappy picnic set up, chuckled, then sat down.
"Wow, Blitzø. Wasn't expecting this romantic side of you," you joked, opening the picnic basket as fast as you could because you're ALWAYS HUNGRY<3.
"Well.. you know... Uhm... Look," Blitzø grabbed your hands. "There's... Something I wanted to... Uh... Okay, never mind that! Why don't we talk about youuu.." you lifted a brow at how awkward Blitzø was acting... It was uncanny... He let go of your hands and looked away.
"Blitzø, are you okay?"
"I asked Millie for advice and she said I should talk about... Feelings... With you," he sighed, laying down. "I love telling you about how I feel about you, but there's something that's been bothering me and I don't know if I can say it..."
"Oh, Blitzø, you dummy," you chuckled, also laying down. "You don't need to tell me anything.. but if you so choose, then you can always tell me without worrying."
"Okay." There was a long silence. You looked at each other, and you took note of how nicely the moonlight reflected off Blitzø. "It's... about the book. How I, an IMP even have it."
"Oh? What's hard about telling me that?"
"It's just... how I got it." There was a spark of curiosity flooding your mind. "You see... There's something I have to do. To have it. Uhm... I just thought I should tell you."
"Okay," you replied. The spark of curiosity was folded into your tone. "Whatever it is, I won't be mad. I promise."
"I fucked a chicken for it."
"A... a chicken...?"
"Well, okay, no. He's some owl prince guy who's all royal, rich, and horny."
"Oh, I see... huh.. uhm..." there was an awkward pause. "Honestly... I don't know... I guess I know why you did it. And I can understand."
"Really..?"
"Yeah..! If he's married, he must be unhappy too. Maybe he needs it or something." You, in reality, weren't sure what to think. But whatever Blitzø has to do, the only thing you really want from him is his time. Right? "Thanks for telling me. How about we just enjoy ourselves for a few hours and get in a deeper conversation when I'm less sleepy from eating so much." Blitzø sat up and looked in the lunch box, finding... just an empty lunch box.
"Oh, you ate it all. Nice."
"I was hungry....!" Blizø made a dog-like whine and crossed his arms.
"What am I gonna eat now? I was hungry too, you know." There was silence again. Blizø stared at you, becoming more and more nervous as the seconds went by. You gave him a confused look.
"I'll make you food or something. I can cook."
"Cook what?"
"Toast. And others."
"Good enough for me!" Blitzø laid back down. "You know, I don't like how cold it is out here."
"Can we go... wait, I don't have a house. Can I steal yours?"
"Y- I mean, no, but you can stay at it if you want."
(I wanted this to be longer, but there's too much going on in my life rn. I decided to just cut it off short and upload ot despite only having 700 words. Love you guys!"
