fix you - a sonic x shadow fanfiction

getting used to you. ch. 2

as shadow walked into sonics house, he saw a woman cooking something that looked like a pasta.

"hey sonic! i see you brought a friend, never seen that one before."the lady spoke to the boy as he followed shadow in, shutting the door behind him. he turned to face his mom,

"oh! this is shadow! say hi shadow!" sonic said enthusiastically, wanting to make shadow feel at home. he kind of felt bad however, he liked shadow. the moment he saw him, he adored his hair, the red that seemed to glow inside his dark brown eyes, he wanted to fix him.

"uh, hi?-"

"nice to meet you shadow! ok sonic make sure your room is clean please."

"dont worry mom it is." sonic lied. his room was never clean but his mom never really walked in there. she respected his privacy, she loved her son and trusted him, although sometimes hed give a harmless white lie.
sonic waved his arm, signaling for sonic to follow him.
shadow proceeded to follow the slightly taller boy, looking around at the pictures that hing from the walls. what a happy family.

"your room isnt very clea-"

"shh..my mom doesnt have to know.." sonic said whispering almost,
shadow let out a small giggle. he wanted to laugh more, but he just wasn't used to that. his mind immediately thought about maria.
sonic could tell something was on his mind, the way his facial expressions immediately changed. shadow looked down, but not fully. he only meant to hide the thoughts than ran through him. But sonic noticed, having payed very close attention to him at all times.
sonic lifted shadows head using his fingertips, causing shadow to look at him.

"if you want, i could drove you home?-"

"no, id rather be here." shadow said, gripping onto sonics wrist a little tighter than he meant to, and pulling it off his face then letting it go.
sonic gave him a smile the  watched him explore his room. he walked over to his desk,
"you only have first place trophies from sports?"

"just cross country, and im very fast-"

"you listen to eminem?"

"uh- you dont?"

"jeeze your actually cool." shadow said as he continued to look at all the posters on sonics wall. a picture of a cat handing on a wire with the words, 'hang in there!' written across the bottom. it was a common picture to have in your phone, but not hung on a wall. he noticed a play station 5 remote and console on his tv stand.
"what games you play?"

"COD, mostly only that game. ill play gangbeasts if i have friends over. i mostly use it to watch youtube though if im being honest." sonic went to sit on his bed, letting the shorter boy continue to explore his new surroundings. until he was about to open a certain drawer,
"woah woah woah...woah."sonic got up and slammed the drawer back shut before shadow could see anymore than the half he saw.

"jeeze what do you have in there, condoms?" shadow laughed at his own stupid joke and went to sit on sonics bed.

"uh, no. its not important-"

"SONIC THERES SOMEONE HERE TO SEE YOU!" his mom shouted right after they heard a ring on the doorbell.
"ugh i told her not to come.." sonic said knowing who it would be. she kept texting him the whole time shadow was there, but he just had his phone on do not disturb.
"TELL HER IM NOT HERE!" sonic yelled opening the door of his room to talk to his mother.

"I ALREADY TOLD HER YOU WERE"

"DAMMIT TELL HER IM SICK!"

"WATCH YOUR MOUTH BOY. WILL DO!"

sonic closed his door back, to see shadow looking through that drawer sonic told him not to go through.
"shadow- i said to not-"

"a diary? really?"

"its good to keep your thoughts organized." sonic said as he walked up to shadow, taking the book out of his hands.
"you can organize those? gosh i thought all hope was lost." shadow said sorta coping through his own humor. sonic could tell what shadow was doing so he let out a small laugh at the joke.

"wanna play video games?" sonic asked as he realized theyd spent 30 minutes doing nearly nothing.
"mm, sure."

^time skip to 7pm^

shadow yawned a little as he one again, got thrown off a building in that stupid blob people game sonic made him play. it was somehow really fun, it made time go by really fast.

"tired already? its only 7!"

"i woke up early this morning."

"but you just told me about how you almost didnt catch the bus!"

"it was my first time going to school in months. im shocked im not asleep right now."

"understandable." sonic said looking back at the tv, realizing shadow had taken advantage of the time sonic spent looking at him.

"oh damn you!" sonic said laughing at his own stupidity.

"its only fair, your way too good at this game." shadow said looking at the boy who sat beside him on the twin bed.

"oh, off topic but, when do you plan on going home? its a school night, i mean my mom wouldnt mind but you dont have clothes or anything."

shadow looked down at the bedsheets he was on, he tightened his grip to the controller. he didnt wanna leave, he didnt want to go back to his home, sonics house felt more of a home. oh shit. he was attached..
