Kiyoko woke up next morning with a large smile on her face. Her date with Ren was perfect.

The flowers he gave her filled her bedroom with a beautiful aroma. Kiyoko took a deep breath to inhale the smell as she got ready for school.

With her uniform on and her hair in a high ponytail, Kiyoko left her house. Her smile still plastered on her face.

Sakura and Kaori couldn't meet Kiyoko that morning, but she was fine with walking alone. It gave her time to think about her birth mom. Something she forced herself to not do very often, but on mornings like that one, good mornings, Kiyoko allowed herself to reminisce on her past memories. They were almost like a past life.

"Good morning, Takahashi."

Kiyoko jumped at Kuroko's sudden appearance. Her pressed a hand to her chest. "Kuroko!" She let out a deep breath. "You scared me."

"Sorry," he said in a monotone voice. "How was your night?"

Kiyoko smiled. "It was great. How was yours?"

Kuroko and Kiyoko chatted as they walked to school. That was the most Kiyoko had heard his voice at one time. She enjoyed it. It made her feel like Kuroko wanted to be her friend.

Kiyoko waved to Sakura as she approached her locker. "Morning, Sakura-chan." Kiyoko glanced to her side to introduce Kuroko to her friend, but he had vanished.

"How was your date?" Sakura asked.

Kiyoko wasn't surprised Sakura knew without Kiyoko having to tell her. She smiled. "It was great. He brought me flowers."

Sakura gushed, "That's so cute!"

Kiyoko nodded. "We went to the park. We talked for a few hours as we watched the sunset."

"Just talked?" Sakura asked as she wiggled her eyebrows.

"Perv." Kiyoko nudged her friend.

Sakura laughed as she threw an arm around her friend.

Kiyoko walked Sakura to her classroom, then hurried to her class. She made it just before the bell. She let out a of relief as she went to her seat. She passed Kuroko, smiled at him. That was when she noticed Kagami sat in front of him.

Kagami waved at Kiyoko, which she returned as she sat down.

The teacher began his lesson for the day. As Kiyoko opened her pencil case, Kagami tapped her on the shoulder.

Kiyoko chuckled to herself as she turned around. "Need another pencil?" She asked him.

Kagami chuckled, but shook his head. "No, I still have the one you gave me yesterday." He held up the pencil as proof. "I didn't get a chance to tell you yesterday after practice, but you're really good at basketball."

Kiyoko smiled. "Thanks." She ignored the warm feeling in her chest as she spun around to face the teacher before he could notice they were talking during his lesson. Her cheeks were warm, and if she had to guess, they were probably a shade of pink.

Stop that, Kiyoko. You have a boyfriend!

Halfway through second period, Kiyoko was twitching to get back to the gym. She wanted to play basketball. She missed the sound of a basketball being dribbled across the court. She missed the sound of squeaky shoes and cheering.

As soon as the final bell rang, Kiyoko was out of her seat and down the hallway. She hurried into the gym to change.

The other first years were ready by the time Kiyoko came out of the change room. She re-tied her hair in a high ponytail as she walked over to them.
