I wake up to unknown surroundings in a dorm room where Harry isn't around. It's certainly not his room as well, so—reasonably enough—we must've changed roommates once we reached the conclusion that sharing a room wasn't good on us.I've come back to a random winter day in our third year, but it's presumably the day Harry and Levi met. My only problem is not knowing when they're bumping into each other—or where, because I'm not sure where Harry's bookstore is located.
I shower once I've located the bathrooms, then get dressed and text Zayn to ask him what bookstore Harry works at. I roll my eyes when he thinks it's a trick question—apparently, we've messed around in the backroom—but he tells me once I've begged enough.
It's Saturday morning, but despite thinking I would come early enough to stop their meeting, Levi is already chatting him up when I walk inside. I stop in my steps as I watch them, mainly because it's surreal to witness the moment they happened.
I know I have to stop them, yet I'm not moving until Levi is leaving again. Harry's cheeks are red when I walk up to him, but what catches my attention the most is his long hair, something I've only seen in pictures—he looks outrageously good.
"Do you need some help? Because I don't think I've ever seen you in here this early."
"Do you want me to go again?"
"Did you hear those words? Or are you putting them in my mouth because you think that's what I'm saying?"
I raise an eyebrow. "Did you get your panties in a twist or something?"
"I thought you were pissed at me."
"How come?"
"I told you to go back to your own room last night. And you looked angry, but you know you can't stay over when we agreed on having sex only."
I'm not sure what to think, so I change the subject. "He asked you out, yeah?"
He's momentarily confused, then looks away as he pretends to sort out the books he just sorted out. "It's not very nice to eavesdrop."
"I wasn't eavesdropping," I say, taking a step closer. "Do you wanna tell me when you're going out? Or is that a secret?"
"How do you know I agreed to go out with him? I thought you weren't eavesdropping?"
"Harry, when are you going out?"
"Tonight," he says. "Is that a problem?"
"Is he taking you somewhere special?"
He sighs as he looks at me. "I'm not done here until seven, so I'm meeting him at the restaurant across the street."
"Do you see potential in him?"
"I'm not sure yet. Are you done with your interrogation soon?"
"I assume I can't change your mind?"
"I assume you won't tell me why you'd want me to change my mind?"
"I have my reasons," I say, reaching out to tug on a curl. "I think your hair is nice this way."
He raises an eyebrow. "Long? Or curly?"
"It has always been curly. Especially in high school."
"Louis—"
"I meant long," I interrupt. "It's quite lovely. I want to braid it."
He looks bewildered, but he doesn't move when I run my hand through it. "Have you been drinking?"
