The twenty-seven teenagers woke up, stretching their arms out when Alex was the first one to notice that Sean, Brian, Susie, Bruce, and Casper were all missing. All of the teenagers got up. Rosina looked down at Shadow who was still asleep. She noticed that he was getting bigger and he wouldn't fit inside the mail-delivery bag. Rosina bent down and she ran her fingers through the dog's soft fur. Shadow woke up, lifted his head, and looked at Rosina. She smiled at the dog. The dog got up onto all four legs then Rosina saw something in the hallway.
She bent down and there was a dark red liquid on the floor. She put one finger into the liquid then she pulled her finger out. Rosina put her finger close to her face then she realized what the liquid was. "Blood." She said. "What?" Roxie asked Rosina. "I said that there is blood here." Rosina said, turning her head around to look at Roxie. "Something must have happened to them," Connor said, standing where he was.
Suddenly, the twenty-seven teenagers all heard a loud crash coming from inside the hallway. Alex, Carrie, and Boston all walked over to the hallway and they had their right hands on their swords, ready to pull their swords out. The three teenagers waited for five minutes then they waited for ten minutes. All three of them thought that something was coming but the more they had to wait, the more they knew that nothing was coming. Alex, Carrie, and Boston put their swords away, turned around, and the three of them walked back to the other twenty-four teenagers.
"I'm going to find out what made that crashing sound. Is anybody else going to come with me?" Peter asked, looking around at the other teenagers. "We will come with you. Me, Jacob, Ricky, Howard, Kristin, Chuck, Britney, Boston, Buddy, Abigail, and Baylee will all go with you." Rosina said to Peter. "Ok then let's go." Peter told them. "Wait, I want to go too." Chase told Peter. "Ok." Peter said. "Come on Shadow, come on boy." Rosina called to the dog. Shadow got up and went over to her.
Peter was in front, Chase was behind Peter, Rosina was behind Chase with Shadow at her side, and Buddy was in the back. All thirteen of them went off into the darkness, leaving the others behind. As the teenagers went farther into the darkness, Peter saw something in the darkness move a couple of feet ahead. "Stop." Peter told the other teenagers. The twelve teenagers stopped. "What is it?" Jacob asked Peter who was looking off into the darkness. "Nothing, never mind. Come on, let's keep going." Peter said. Finally, they came to the office where Brian and the four others were.
When they came to the office, all thirteen teenagers went in but Shadow wouldn't step one paw into the office. "Ok boy, stay." Rosina told the dog. They saw Sean sitting against the wall. "Sean!" Kristin said, running toward him, with the other teenagers behind her. When she reached Sean, she bent down and she noticed that his right shoulder was covered in blood. She touched his shoulder and when she did, he groaned in pain.
"Oh, sorry." Kristin told Sean. Peter saw two walkie-talkies that had fresh-new batteries. He picked both of the walkie-talkies up and before he put one of them into his jacket pocket, he turned it to channel seven. He handed the other one to Howard and he told him to take the walkie-talkie to the other teenagers, give it to Darrell, tell him to turn it to channel seven, and run as fast as he can.
So Howard went back out into the hallway and took off running the way they just came. When Howard got to the fourteen teenagers, Darrell asked him, "Why are you the only one who is back?" "Peter told me to give you this walkie-talkie. He told me to tell you to turn it to channel seven and also we found Sean." Howard told Darrell. "Well, I'm glad that Sean is okay. Tell Peter and the others to hurry up," Darrell told Howard. "I will." Howard said, starting to run back into the darkness.
A few seconds later, Howard was back in the office with the other eleven teenagers and Sean.. Peter and the other teenagers all walked over to Kristin and Sean. Peter bent down and he stared right into Sean's eyes. "What happened?" he asked Sean. "Susie got yanked into the hallway then she shot me by accident." Sean told Peter. "What about Brian, Bruce, and Casper?" Peter asked him. "They went to get Susie back but never returned," he told Peter. "Peter, are you there?" Darrell said through the walkie-talkie. Peter got the walkie-talkie out of his jacket pocket, raised it up to his mouth, and pressed the talk button. "Yeah, I'm here." he said into the walkie-talkie.
