"Look, if Rafe and Barry know, it's only a matter of time." Sarah spoke the next morning as they made it to the open field that not many people went to. Rio sat with JJ and Pope.

"Before everyone knows." Pope concluded. He looked toward the clingy pair, wondering what he'd missed.

"I told you." JJ scoffed as he paced, "We should've gone south, man. Why does no one ever listen?"

"Just stop. I get it. I understand." John B cut his yells and rants off.

"I have an idea." Sarah spoke up before a fight could happen between them, "With me back, my dads going to have to choose between me and Rafe. He's gonna choose me."

"Just please listen. Ward keeps lying to you, Sarah." John B spoke softly to her. Rio looked toward Pope, pulling on his wrist to walk closer toward the pair.

"He won't agree after all that's happened." Kie spoke toward her.

"No. I.. I know it sounds crazy." Sarah shook her head as she looked at each of them, "But he's my dad. And I know him, and I know he loves me. I'm just asking for two hours."

They were all silent, Sarah took that as her second to leave. Rio exhaled, swallowing. "I think I should go home."

"Yes." Kie agreed as she walked her way. "I'm so sorry for dragging you into this."

"My fault." Rio hugged her tightly. "Anything any of you need, call me."

"JJ and I can bring her to the ferry." Pope spoke up to get the pairs attention. "One leaves in an hour."

"Swing by and grab her bag at the chateau." John B nodded his head.

"I'm gonna leave you guys some money." Rio spoke up as she looked to John B. "If this goes to trial, you'll need a good lawyer."

"Thank you." John B gave her a small hug. "Look, get home safe."

"Call me." Kie nodded as Rio did the same, encouraging the boys to follow her as the trio left.

"This feels wrong." Rio admitted as she sat with Pope and JJ, waiting for the ferry to show. "Why would I leave?"

"Maybe because you don't wanna be involved in a massive gold hunt that will get you killed?" Pope suggested with a questionable look her way.

"There's an answer." JJ hummed with a point. "Or you could stay and almost drown, get shot, go to jail."

"The whole works." Rio hummed.

"The whole works." JJ agreed.

Pope exhaled, grabbing her bag from the truck when the ferry honked loudly, getting closer. "It's been fun though, right?"

"Most fun i've ever had." she took the bag, adjusting the bandana on his forehead still. "We should do it again. When people aren't trying to kill you guys."

"I second that." JJ agreed, pulling her into a hug as Pope joined in. "Have fun practicing for Juilliard."

"Screw you." she laughed, pulling back as everyone started to get on board. "All right, I better get outta here."

"Later." Pope hummed.

"Later, Gorgeous's." she waved them off, heading for the boat with one more smile over her shoulder.

"That girl." Pope exhaled with a shake of his head.

"A storm of chaos." JJ agreed, patting his back and wrapping his arm around his waist. "Let's get back to John B, yeah?"

Rio sat alone at home for the time being, exhaling and laying on her couch. She switched positions hundreds of times, groaning in annoyance each time as she couldn't get comfortable. The house was quiet, lonely, boring. She thought about OBX, about the Pogues, about what was happening with them. She wondered what happened with Sarah's Dad, if John B had fallen into Rafes clutches yet.

A knock came at her door, Rios ears peeking up as she walked over. Looking through the peep hole, her heart stopped. Standing right outside was Renfield, Limbrey in the car. He was nursing a black eye from her side kick in the process of saving Pope. She jumped when his fist hit the door again. "Open up, Rio!"

She backed up in fear, her heart thumping. Of course he'd find her, of course he'd want to go after her with what happened. Rio grabbed a kitchen knife, standing by the island as the banging on the door got louder. She was in a panicked state, not sure exactly what to do. She thought back to what happened the night prior, about how JJ pulled her into a closet and kept her quiet.

As the door began to rattle, the man throwing himself against it, she ran upstairs. Holding the knife in hand, she searched for her phone around her room. The loud crash from down stairs struck fear deep inside of her, running to hide inside of her closet as she heard loud feet coming up the stairs. Her hand clasped over her mouth, the knife infront of her as she peered through the slits in the closet. Renfield walked into the room, looking around as he tossed her stuff around.

Rio tried not to breath, tried not to make any noise that would lead him toward the closet. As he left the room, she heard him looking through the other rooms. She looked toward her window, it being her only safe haven at this point. Her car keys were down stairs, she wouldn't get far on foot when Limbrey saw her anyways. There was only two answered to the problem.

One, stay hidden and wait for him to find her.

Or two, get to the boat in the back.

While both were risky, Rio assumed she was better off with the second one instead of waiting to die. She waited until she knew exactly which room Reinfield was in, hearing the thump from the one closet to the hallway. She tiptoed down the stairs, watching weary up the stairs as she clutched the knife closer to herself. As she reached the bottom step, her foot creaked under it.

Rios eyes widened, looking up the sitars as her heart was seconds from jumping from her chest. Reinfield appeared, looking down at her. "Got you."

Rio took off in a sprint toward the back door, yanking on it. She forgot it had been locked, hurrying to unlock it. The second she got it open, Renfield grabbed her and yanked her back. She fell, her head hitting the island with a yelp. He leaned over her. "Where's Pope?"

"I don't know." she stated, his hands clasped around her face.

"Where is he!" he yelled at her.

"Up your ass!" Rio yelled, using her right foot to hit him in the middle of the legs. Reinfield winced, giving her the opportunity to make a run for it, sprinting out of the back door and down the long back yard. As she made it to the boat, a shot echoed in the air. She gave a yell, hitting the floor of the boat to avoid any bullets hitting her. More echoed, her hands grasping the keys and twisting it in the engine.

Reinfield jumped on the back of the boat as soon as Rio hit the gas, his body flying off the back and she speed away.
