Third person POV
"Thanks for the coffee."Carson waved to one of the employees as she walked out of Jitters. She was running late and it was pouring rain. She had promised Barry she'd help him at the lab after he went to STAR labs to see the particle excelerator be turned on.
Carson lifted the steaming cup up to her cold lips, but before she could take a sip her phone began to vibrate. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and saw that it was Oliver.
She rolled her eyes and let out a sigh. She loved Oliver to death but he was always calling her now a days asking when she'd be visiting. She understood that it was rude to ignore family but if word got out that she was in town her mother would drag her home.
Knowing the right thing to do she answered her phone.
"This better be important, I'm late." Carson stated with an impatient tone.
"Hello to you to." Oliver laughed. "You know you've grown up so much." He sighed. Carson snickered at him.
"You sound like a parent. So what's up?" She replied.
"Oh um, I just met your buddy Barry Allen."
Carson remembered the case barry had been working on was in Starling City. She was supposed to tag along on the case with Barry but wasn't ready to return to her home town, even if it had been two years since the incedent.
"Really?" Carson acted surprised. "Finally, I've waited 19 years."
"Yeah, he's a nice guy. Helped out on a case here. I was surprised you didn't come."
"Oh yeah, I was busy with an other case." Carson cringed with guilt as she lied. She hated lying to Oliver but if he knew she was supposed to go with Barry he would be angry with her.
"Well..." Carson could hear the stress in his voice. "I heard the weather was bad up there."
As Oliver finished her sentence, Carson entered the police department, shaking the rain off her clothes. Carson smiled knowing Barry was probably bouncing off the walls with nerdy excitment. He'd been so excited for this night sense the day they announced it.
"Yeah." I sighed. "Well I really should be going work, Bar-"
There was a sudden extremely loud clap of thunder and the building shook. The lights flickered off causing Carson's stomach to jump up into her throat.
"What was that?" Oliver gasped.
"The police department was just struck by lightning." She said distractedly. Carson madly scanned the floor for Barry but he was no where in sight.
"Is everyone okay?" Eddie called out. When Carson didn't hear Barry's voice in the crowd, it dawned on her that he must be upstairs, where the lighting had struck.
"Oh my god. Oliver, I have to go." Carson said in a panic. She quickly ended the call with out a goodbye.
"Hey,Eddie I'm gonna check on Barry and see if he's okay." She shouted at Eddie, who was checking on other officers. When he heard Carson he looked up, nodded, and continued.
Carson swiftly made her way up the stairs. She had a bad feeling settling in her gut. It was telling her something was really wrong. She picked up her pace and barged into his lab to find it a complete mess. The roof was open and shelves knocked over. Rain came in from the open roof, soaking the floor. Looking at the mess Carson spotted Barry, sprawled across a shelf. She rushed to his side in panic.
"Barry!" She shouted at him. He didn't move. His body was boiling and it looked like he wasn't breathing. Carson felt as if her whole world was crumbling down around her.
Above her, a part of the roof creaked and began to fall. Carson shoved Barry's body out of the way just as the heavy metal remnant of the room fell on top of her. Carson was surprised when she felt no pain. She tried to move her leg to kick her way out but her leg exploded with a fiery pain. She let out a glass shattering scream in agony.
"Eddie!!" She called out shakily, her voice horse. She shook with fear and the pain only grew the longer she waited.
"Carson!" Eddies voice rang out. When he stumbled in to the room his eyes landed on Barry, who was sprawled across the floor and Carson, was wedged under a piece of fallen roof.
"Call an ambulance." Carson shouted. "I think he was struck by lightning."
Eddie fumbled from his phone in his pocket and called the hospital. As he waited for an answer he yelled for people to come up and help. Several police officers rushed up and surrounded the piece of the roof and lifted it off of Carson. Once the heavy metal was off of her, Carson cried out in pain. Eddie was soon by her side asking what was wrong.
"M-My leg!" She shouted. Carson didn't dare look down, she knew her leg was in bad shape. The pain was unbearable.
"Just hold on, an ambulance is on its way."
"Where's Barry?" Carson tried to get up but Eddie held her down.
"You need to stay still." He demanded. Just then a team of paramedics rushed in and began to help.
"You need to move sir." A paramedic said to Eddie. He stood up and moved out of the way.
"Okay, were gonna lift out on to a stretcher. Now this is going to hurt a lot so I need you to stay calm. Can you do that?" The paramedic asked calmly. Carson nodded, tacking deep breaths.
Three others surrounded Carson and lifted her. She shouted as a wave of pain ran up her leg. Her vision blurred and a ringing filled her ears.
"She's going into shock!" Carson heard from a paramedic over the loud ringing.
"Where's Barry? You need to help Barry." Carson asked. Her body becoming limp.
"Just relax. It's all going to be okay."
As Carson began to lose consensus, bring lights blinded her. Then in an instant, the world went dark.
