Chapter Two, Daughter-Daddy Moments

It has been two weeks since the Black-Potter-Lestrange family had moved into the Black Château in Auc, France, when they had received news, not even a day after their arrival, of Dumbledore's schemes from Phineas Nigellus Black; however, since then all had been quiet which was rather disconcerting to the Black and Lestrange part of the family. So, since then, Rabastan and Rodolphus had dedicated their time to improving their skills and getting Masteries in Defence and creating plans for the old coot, Falco had joined the French Ministry's version of the Wizengamot for the House of Lestrange and Vinda had joined as well but as a proxy for the Black and Potter Houses, as agreed between Vinda and Sirius (so they would be the first to know of any plans pertaining to them or the old coot), as Sirius wanted to dedicate the majority of his time to raising his daughter.

Speaking of his daughter, Sirius was brought out of his thoughts by Persephone's cries for not only James and Lily (which broke his heart) but also for him. Hurrying his morning routine and ablutions, Sirius ran towards his crying daughter pulling on a black roll-neck sweater which he paired with indigo jeans and brown shoes.
"Shhh, baby. Shh I'm here." Sirius soothed, scooping Persephone up and held her close to him as her tiny hands clutched tightly at his sweater sniffling. "Daddy Sirius is here." Dancing from foot to foot he rubbed her back humming the song they used to sing to her as a lullaby.

"Hush little flower don't you cry,
Daddy's gonna buy you a flying broom,
And if that flying broom doesn't fly,
Daddy's gonna buy you a diamond ring."
On and on he sung the song.

Until Persephone was no longer crying and just clutching tightly to him but her emerald eyes still shinned from the tears and some still clung to her long sooty lashes, which Sirius tenderly wiped away leaving kisses in their wake instead.
"There we go, that's better." Sirius beamed, small giggles were escaping Persephone's lips as he kissed her cheeks and tickled her sides.
"No, Dada Pad!" Persephone screeched between her giggles which only made a wide grin appear on Sirius's face making his silver eyes brighter and the troubles from the war and losing Lily and James to melt away as he joined in his daughter's sweet, sweet laughter. Sirius's heart swelled with love for the little girl in his arms and couldn't help but hold her close and kissed her curly dark chestnut hair.
