Everyone knows the story of the Two Sisters, the betrayal and the banishment. But no one knows that the Moon sister had two small children. Whatever happened to them? Scholars didn't know for ages, as it was a dark secret Princess Celestia held.

Every single night, Celestia would sit on the edge of her balcony, staring up to the Mare in the Moon; the Moon had a new companion, and a new star.

"I wish I could take it all back.." she whispered to herself. It was the night before the 1000 year; her sister and her children were set to be released. No pony or creature could have imagined that the next day, the Royal Family was about to extend.
Celestia turned her head to face Ponyville; her old home that held the elements.
"Your Grace. It's time." A guard stated, saluting her as she walked past him.
"Open the gates." She stated. The Summer Sun Celebration was about to begin.

It was the same night Twilight Sparkle and her friends defeated Nightmare Moon and restoring harmony.
Luna was dazed and confused at her new form. "What..where?" She asked Celestia.
"Your...children are still enclosed in the Northern Star, little sister. It is up to you to use the elements to release them." Celestia stated as she turned her head to the Mane 6.

"Wait..we're the elements." Applejack stated.
"There are more alicorns?" Twilight stated, looking at the young Moon Princess. "Only one, my son Polaris. But my daughter, Star Catcher is..unique with her ability."
"She was only a baby when I..became Nightmare Moon. She was born with no horn but was gifted with a magic horn, and different color wings. I..we still have no idea why." Luna stated, looking at a torn tapestry in the abandoned castle.

"A Prince and Princess..forgotten to time." Rarity stated, "That is.." "Awful." Fluttershy continued, walking towards Luna. The rest followed Fluttershy. "We will do whatever we can to help you, Princess." Twilight stated, "Heck yeah we will!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Now wait a darn minute. We barely know how these elements work! What if we mess it up?" Applejack questioned, pointing at her apple shaped element.
"There is an old book in the Royal Library about the elements from Starswirl. It should give us some guidance. Come. Let's go to Canterlot and welcome back my sister." Celestia stated as she used her magic to teleport all of them from the abandoned castle to the capital of Equestria.

Luna's eyes widen, as she looked at the new castle.
"Everything is so..different." Her ears lowered. Celestia looked at her sister and rested a wing around her. "I know change is scary, but I will be here to help you." She warmly smiled.
Luna nodded her head, and looked at the sky. She longed for her children to be back in her arms.

"I miss you." She thought to herself. She closed her eyes and just wished for her children to be around her. Suddenly, a small white butterfly landed on her nose. "There you are..my dearest Star Catcher." She smiled as a tear ran down her cheek.
The warm sun felt like home on her, but so much was different. All of her friends were..gone. Customs changed and new traditions. The workers of the palace stared and whispered at her, as a few knew of her return to prevent crowds.

"Princess! We found something." Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she flew to the princess.
Luna opened her eyes to the butterfly gone. She sighed and nodded, making her way to the Royal Library.

"There is a spell that can open any prison. Why didn't you use this for the moon, Princess?" Twilight asked Celestia. Celestia nervously chickened and cleared her throat as Luna gave her a dirty look.
"Well...I erm.. Anyways." She sighed and looked at her sister. "I was advised not too..we didn't know if Luna was..ready."

"Ready?!" She screamed. "My innocent children are STUCK in a star for Starswirl's beard sake! Children who did NOTHING." She didn't realize she was using her Equestrian voice. She looked around to see the terrifying faces and composures of those around her. Guards stood close to Celestia for added protection.
Luna sighed and sat down near the window.
"Just...bring my children back." She stated over her shoulder. She looked at the now setting Sun, and she should slowly see her children's Star as she started to raise the moon. A single tear made it's way off of hee face, and landed on the window sill. That tear what the Spark the elements needed to open the star.

At the moment the tear hit, all of the elements started to glow. The Mane 6 were lifted off of the ground, their eyes glowing white as a beam shot from Twilight's elements into Luna. Luna's cutie mark began to close blue as well her horn. Suddenly her magic shot straight to the star that held her children. All over Equestria and Beyond could see the star practically exploding. A new butterfly constellation was born.
Luna and the others fell to the ground as Celestia made her way over to see if they were alright.

"Sister!" She exclaimed, nudging Luna awake. It was a moment before Luna opened her eyes to the sound of a baby crying. Her eyes immediately shot up to her children in front of her. She blinked a few times; 'Could it really be them?' She thought to herself. A young alicorn stallion sat still, holding a baby Pegasus. "M..Mom?" He stated, looking at the alicorn princess. Luna looked at him; her eyes flooding with emotions as she saw her children.
Luna screamed with excitement as she ran to her children, taking them into her arms. There was not a dry eye in the room.

The Prince and Princess have finally been reunited to their mother after 1,000 moons.

"Celestia.." Luna stated as she held her children in her arms. "I'm so..I'm so sorry." She collapsed into the arms of her sister. Her sister held her close, taking in her niece and nephew as well.

Twilight helped excuse everyone out of the room to leave the Royal Family alone, but not before taking a glimpse at Star Catcher. She and Star locked eyes; as if Star knew her destiny. Twilight smiled, bowed and walked out the door.

"Citizens of this realm and beyond!" Celestia exclaimed before her people. "The Summer Sun Celebration was a reminder of my defeat of Nightmare Moon, but now it is a reminder of the reunion of my sister, Princess Luna and her two young children. The Moon and Stars are finally home! It is now time to rejoice!" Celestia exclaimed as she finally presented Luna, Polaris and Star.
Ponies and creatures from everywhere exclaimed with happiness. Ponies were dancing in the streets as the Ruler of the Night and her heirs were home.

Twilight and her friends stood in the street, taking in all the sights. "OOOOH A party! A welcome home party!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, as she started to dance with the others. Rarity looked over shoulder to see Twilight standing and staring at a now painted mural of the Princess and her children.
"Darling? Are you okay?" Rarity asked her friend. Twilight rested her hoof on the painted blue butterfly. "Star Catcher...she seems so familiar. This butterfly..I've seen it before." She stated as she examined it. "Relax. You're just stressed and need to eat. Come now, darling. I bet we can find some fine dining her during the celebrations." Rarity escorted her friend away from the mural.
