Even thought it felt like Star's destiny was written in stone, that wasn't the case.

Eons before the modern times, there was a powerful kingdom that God like creatures ruled. Where different types of alicorns lived and reigned for the mortals below. It was a beautiful kingdom. Calm, where almost everyone lived in peace and harmony.

This kingdom was hidden in the clouds, where the light would dance with the clouds and make the most vivid colors anyone has ever seen.
The homes floated on these clouds, that brought the rain to the earth below. The clouds were soft shades of gold, silver and white. At night, they were soft blues, and dark hues of silver. They were so soft, and filled with so many memories.
This kingdom was named Aestaevaria. It was a glorious place to live; it was almost like heaven. This kingdom was home to so many ponies, but specifically to Celestia and Luna.

Their parents, were apart the Elite Council. The Council unified their rule, so no one individual had divine right and unlimited power.
Each Alicorn State elected 2 ponies to represent them. Celestia and Luna's Parents. Their mother, Urania was a powerful sorceress that harvested the power of the stars, making new ones. And their father, Cymbeline, manipulated the light to his whim. The two were a major powerhouse and one of the strongest forces in the kingdom. Their magic passed onto their daughters.

The kingdom seemed to be flourishing, until one fateful day.
Andromeda, a student of Pegasus blood was studying under Urania made history. She knew the family well, as her mother was a chamber maid to Urania. She grew up playing with Celestia and Luna since they were little. The trio were inseparable. Until it came time to grow up.
Andromeda was moved to be a student, one of the very few selected. Next to some Unicorns and Earth Ponies picked from Equestria.
She barely socialized with them, besides a young Pegasus named Maxim. She knew Maxim rather well, but he also knew Luna well. He was training to learn how to run his own military division for the Kingdom, as it was still very early on.
Maxim would start seeing Luna more and more, driving Andromeda away from the two. Soon, the two would sprout a romance that drove Andromeda insane.

This broke Andromeda's heart, as she had fallen in love with Maxim and felt rage. She would always lock herself in her room, screaming and sobbing as she read through countless letters between her and Maxim. It almost felt like his words meant absolutely nothing anymore. That everything was...a joke. This rage was the fuel for her soul to expand into something more.

Eventually, she grew jealous of their status and how distant they were getting. "Why can't we be friends anymore?" She screamed at Luna, not fully understanding why.
"We...I have duties now. Duties you could NEVER understand Andromeda. We will always be friends, but things are different now. The Kingdom...is expanding and giving Celestia and I power over Equestria.." Andromeda was filled with rage. Her eyes were flooded; but they felt like daggers going into Luna's heart. Andromeda stood there, huffing and puffing and knocking over photos of them.
"Why are they giving YOU power over someone with Equestrian blood! It should be ME!" She screamed, sending shockwaves to Luna.
Celestia immediately stood guard over her little sister, sprouting her wings. Luna looked over Tia's wings, filled with fear.
"Andromeda." Celestia snapped. Andromeda stood close to the ground, almost shaking. She looked at Luna, smirked and ran.
Luna tried to run after her, but Celestia and their guards stopped her.
"I..I just wanted to say goodbye." She whispered.

Andromeda ran to Urania's tower, locking herself inside. She panicked for a second, but was able to control her emotions.
"I'll show them..."she whispered to herself.
Whipping the tears from her face, she looked through all of the books filled with potions and spells. She could hear the commotion of alicorns fighting in the distance.
"It seems like all of them don't want this...I'll show them what kind of mistakes they're about to make." She laughed to herself as she found the one thing she needed. A Star.
She locked herself in that tower, and began to study how to harvest magic, and making her an Alicorn. This was the only way to show the ponies below that it was possible for them to live into greatness!
She slowly followed the instructions, and looking at the Star.
But something went wrong. Flashes of light were beaming out of the tower, capturing everyone attention.
"What on earth..." Urania muttered. Without a second thought, hundreds of alicorns started to charge towards the tower.
A lot explosion knocked everyone back, a loud screech pierced the air. The silence following after was so suffocating it burned.
