Chapter 2

Vic's pov*
"Aunt Vic are we gonna see my mommy now" asked Tatiana as I finished getting her dressed.
"Of course sweetie I'm sure she misses you like crazy right now" I said as I kissed her forehead.
"Is she gonna be okay" asked Tatiana who looked like she was going to start crying.
"Yes your mama is going to be fine now sweetie she just has a bunch of owies okay so when you see her she might look a little different but she's still your mommy okay sweetie" I answered as I picked her up and grabbed her bag.
"Kiss it better" stated Tatiana while nodding her head.
"Do you know what happened sweetie" I asked.
"No" said Tatiana looking scared as I put her into the car.
"That's okay sweetie nobody is going to be mad that you don't know maybe we can ask your mommy" I said as I got her situated and then got into the drivers seat and took me off to the hospital.
"We go see mommy now" said Tati as we pulled into the parking lot of the hospital.
"Well first we need to see tía Andy first and see if she has any updates on your mom" I said as I got out of the car and grabbed her as well and walked into the building.
"Hey Andy have they updated you on Maya yet" I asked as I handed Tati to Andy.
"No I told them to wait until you got here" answered Andy as she tickled Tati and then put her down.
"Lieutenant Herrera and Hughes your Captain has been through hell it looks like. She has a couple bruised ribs and by the looks of it she's been beaten with a belt she has some welts from metal part and lacerations across her back, and thighs she has bruises on her neck and bruising on her face and it looks like she's been sexually assaulted too. We could also see some other injuries that haven't quite healed up. She's been here many times actually for certain injures I know it's not from a call. I honestly think she's being abused" explained Dr. Bailey.
"Can we see her I'm sure her daughter wants to see her mom" I said.
"Is someone bringing her" asked Dr. Bailey.
"Shes with us now" said Andy as we looked around us and noticed she was hiding under a chair.
"Well Maya's room is 663 whenever you guys are ready to see her she should take a couple weeks off work though to heal" said Dr. Bailey as she left.
"Sweetie is everything okay" asked Andy as we laid on the floor in front of the chair she was hiding under.

Andy's pov*
"I'm scared" whispered Tatiana. Shit I would be too and a little traumatized after having to find her mom like that.
"It's okay to be scared sweetie but remember mommy is fine now okay she's just too rest and relax now to heal we go see mommy whenever you are ready"explained Vic.
"I need you to remember is that you helped mommy by calling me you were very brave and I'm sorry that you had to do it" I explained.
"You do know she's only three right she doesn't fully understand what happened" whispered Vic.
"First sweetie are you hurt at all like mommy" I asked.
"No only mommy" said Tati making us sigh in relief.
"Okay Tati" said Vic.
"See mommy now" said Tati as she crawled back out from underneath the chair.
"Let's go" said Vic as we started walking with Tati but we let her run ahead just a tiny bit.
"Slow down Tati you are going to end up running into someone" I said.
"No I won't" said Tati when all of a sudden she ran into a doctor.
"Oh shoot are you okay bambina" said this doctor as she helped Tati up off the floor. You could easily tell that she wasn't from here with her accent but she looked like a god damn model.
"Yeah sorry I'm gonna see mommy" said Tati as she went over to Vic.
"Sorry about her honestly we are going to see her mom and she's a little excited after she got over being scared" I told the doctor.
"It's okay I wouldn't want to keep y'all from seeing her mama" said the doctor as she left.
"She's pretty" said Tati as we finally reached Maya's room she was staying at.
"She is isn't she now are you ready to see mommy" I asked Tati.
"Yeah" said Tati as we opened the door.
"Hey guys" said Maya as she tried to sit up to talk to us.
"Try not to move Mai you are injured" I said as I sat Tati down on her bed.
"Hi my baby are you okay" asked Maya to Tati as Tati sat in her lap.
"Maya we want to know what happened they said you had old injuries that never healed properly. They also said you've been here a few times. Is it Daniel is he hurting you Maya" I asked gently.
"I-I don't want to t-talk about it right now" said Maya as she looked down and her daughter.
"Okay we won't force you to talk about it at the moment maybe when we have someone watching Tati we can have this conversation maya we only want to protect you it's pretty scary seeing our badass Captain here in the hospital and not because you got hurt on the job" explained Vic.
