Name origin: Starwings, as one might expect, are named after the stars. This both because of their appearance, in which they have stars scattered over their body, and also due to their abilities that connect them to the stars in the sky. They also have a star shape on the end of their tail, which just emphasizes the point even more.

Tribe origin: Starwings don't appear to be closely related to any other tribes, so their evolution must have occurred a very long time ago. Some dragons theorize that they came from space and are from a completely different world, but this theory was quickly put down when it was realized that dragons cannot, in fact, breathe in space. And the Starwings are no exception. It has been discovered that they do, in fact, share some common ancestry with the Stormwings, though it was far before the Awakening, and by now both tribes are entirely separate.

Build and traits: Starwings have an average build and size, and have many recognizable features: a row of spikes going down their backs, sharp claws, curved horns attached to their skulls, a small horn on the end of their snout. However, they also have a cluster of spikes on the tip of their tail, which forms in the shape of a star. Their wings are larger than usual, which allows them to fly much quicker than most tribes, and allowing them to reach unbelievable speeds in the sky. Starwings also have a set of star shapes going down both sides of their body, starting up on the face an neck and going all the way down to the tail.

Colors: Starwings are mostly purple or dark blue in color, their scales taking on darker tones to better blend into the night sky. They can also have some brown, grey, and greyish-blue colors, though these are a bit less common. Their horns, spikes and claws are a deep brown or grey, though they never match with the Starwing's scales. The star patterns on their scales can be golden or silver in color, and sometimes even a mix of the two. Starwing eyes are similar to their scales, as they can be purple or blue, but their eyes always come in a different shade than their scales. The amount of variety in the tribe's colors makes them quite the sight to behold, and Starwings are often considered to be one of the prettiest tribes because of this.

Abilities: The most notable of the Starwing's abilities is their breath weapon. Unlike all of the other tribes on Pangaia (excluding the Slaughterwings), the Starwings have a powerful breath weapon that they can use at any time. Instead of flame, like a traditional dragon, they fire a bright plasma that melts through most material. All Starwings have the ability to breath such plasma, but it grows more powerful as they age. However, this breath weapon can only be used a few times per hour due to its intense heat, on average about two to three times per hour.
Starwings also have the ability to communicate from very long distances using the stars on their body. The star patterns can glow brightly, and using this ability the Starwings made a language that doesn't require verbal communication. The Starwing's secret language is simple but effective over a very long range, as the glowing patterns are distinguishable from far away.
The last ability that only a few Starwings have is the ability to manipulate the stars and constellations in the sky. This is a rare and powerful ability that allows a dragon to change the look of the stars in the sky at will. These changes have no effect on the actual stars themselves, but rather it is simply a large illusion that can be useful in a variety of ways. Using this sky manipulation, Starwings can send messages instantly across the planet, disorient those that navigate by the stars, change the brightness of the entire sky at will, and much more. However, using this ability is shown to cause severe brain-nerve damage to the user, making them incredibly weak while using it.
