"It wouldn't be the worst thing to happen." Aphmau shrugged.
"I really like people not noticing me, and people notice you. They would notice me too." Aaron crossed his arms. The two of them were standing in an empty hallway during lunch.
"You're gonna have to get over that fear." She stated the obvious.
"I know, but not yet. We can tell people eventually. I promise." Aaron took one of her hands in his.
"I'm gonna hold you to that." She squeezed his hand.
He sighed. "Ok." She pulled him down and kissed him. Two weeks had passed since their first date, but Aaron still got flustered when it came to physical contact.
"Relax." She wrapped her arms around his neck. "You're really tense."
"Sorry." Aaron apologized. He couldn't help it, honestly. Relationships, in general, were new to him. He'd never wanted to date, but with Aphmau, it was different. She was perfect.
"It's ok." She smiled and kissed him again, this time longer than before.
"Um, what?" A voice startled the two of them, and they shot apart. It turned out to be one of Aphmau's friends, Katelyn.
"Katelyn!" Aphmau smiled sheepishly. "How are you?"
"This doesn't look like grabbing your lunch." Katelyn crossed her arms.
"Funny story." She laughed awkwardly.
"Please, don't tell anyone," Aaron begged, not even trying to lie.
"How long have you two been together?" Katelyn leaned against a locker nearby.
"Two weeks." Aphmau grabbed Aaron's hand and squeezed it tightly.
"When were you going to tell us?" She asked.
"We weren't and still aren't ready," Aphmau responded.
Katelyn sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Fine, I won't tell anyone."
"Thank you so much." Aaron sighed in relief.
"You both owe me." Katelyn crossed her arms.
"Mhm." Aphmau nodded.
Katelyn turned to leave. "People are going to notice you're gone. I'd get going if I were you." Aphmau squeezed Aaron's hand before dropping it.
"I'll see you later." She smiled over her shoulder.
"Bye." Aaron smiled back. The two girls disappeared from view, and Aaron sighed in relief.
