A month had passed and both girls' anxiety was extremely high at the moment, Nelson found out where Jessica was now working and constantly trying to show up then cause a scene when he would be escorted off the property. Jessica was glad her partners understood the situation and did whatever they could to protect her. She was getting real tired of the constant comments about his brother being in the police force and how nothing was being done about him breaking the restraining order.
"There has to be something that can be done isn't there?" Annabel asked as she sat the plate of food down in front of Jessica as she listened to her rant about Nelson showing up at her work yet again.
"In this town, I seriously doubt it," Jessica sighed as she shook her head. "Remember the Dixons have a lot of power around her."
"That's such bullshit," Annabel sighed as she sat down and took a drink of her tea then opened her laptop. There was a sudden thud and she rolled her eyes. "Chill out North, I'll eat my food in just a second, I didn't forget about it, besides it's not like I can with you around."
"That came from outside," Jessica said nervously, "I don't think that was North this time. Check the cameras, I'll get your ring."
"It's not my ring," Annabel mumbled as she opened the camera app on her laptop. A sudden chill touched her arm and she sighed, "Fine it's my ring."
"Tell me again why you don't wear this all the time?" Jessica asked as she handed her best friend the ring curiously.
"Because it was custom made," Annabel shrugged, "It's not like if something happened to it I could just go get another one at a jewelry store."
"Good point," Jessica nodded as Annabel slid it onto her finger. "They here?" Kota touched her shoulder and she slightly shivered, "Hey Kota."
"There's a box in front of the door," Nathan said looking out the window. "Officer Dixon dropped something off then rushed back to his car and drove off."
"Nathan said Officer Dixon left us something then left," Annabel said motioning towards the window he was at, making Jessica smile.
"Thanks Natey," Jessica beamed as she headed to the door.
"DON'T!!!" the men shouted at the same time.
"DON'T JESS!" Annabel shouted just as Jessica twisted the doorknob.
The door flung open making Jessica fall back in surprise as Nelson stood over her.
"He was hiding behind the oak tree," Annabel said rushing to Jessica's side. "You need to leave now Mr. Dixon, you are not welcome here."
"You don't own the property so you can't tell me what to do," He smirked as Jessica slid away from him.
"Actually I do," Annabel said helping Jessica stand up. "The title to the house and the deed to the land are in my mine so I do own it. Now I will not repeat myself again, you Mr. Nelson Dixon are not welcome on this property. You need to leave before I call and have you arrested for trespassing and going against your restraining order."
"You are lying," He glared as he took a step towards her.
"Try me," She smirked as the temperature drastically dropped around them and the door flung open even though no one was near it. "You have friends in high places as you like to constantly brag about. I'm sure all it will take is one call and you will find out that I am in fact not lying Sir. Now the choice is yours, are you going to leave politely or do I need to disturb the police and embarrass your family?"
"What was my annoying brother bringing you?" He asked suddenly changing the subject.
"That is none of your concern," Annabel said glaring at him. He strode over to the box and picked it up. He flicked open his pocket knife and stuck it into the tape. "It is a federal crime to open someone else's mail Sir. Even your family won't be able to protect you from a federal crime and just imagine the embarrassment if you were to go to prison over something as measly as opening someone else' mail. No amount of money will take that embarrassment away."
"You bitch," He glared as he dropped the box and slapped her. "You really need to learn how to keep your mouth shut."
"Yes Officer, he just physically assaulted the owner of the property and threatened her. Everything is on tape. He is clearly going against his restraining order. Neither one of us feel safe, please hurry," Jessica whimpered while making her eyes water. "Thank you Officer."
"You stupid slut," He said grabbing Jessica by the arm. "Hang up that phone now."
"No," Jessica seethed, "Get your hands off me now Nelson Dixon."
Just then there was an even more sudden drop of temperature and Nelson yelped while yanking his hand away from Jessica. "What the fuck?" He asked touching his hand. "What the fuck did you do? It was like my hand was submerged in ice. Are you a fucking witch?"
"What are you talking about?" Annabel asked innocently.
"You put a curse on me, didn't you?" Nelson shouted as he grabbed his neck. "You put voodoo on me! Take it away! I'll leave you alone, take it away!"
"Come on Mr. Dixon," The officer said walking into the house. "You know you aren't suppose to be here, Sir. Let's not make a scene now."
"They are using magic on me!" He shouted as he tripped over something but when the officer looked there was absolutely nothing on the hardwood floor. "They keep poking me with invisible ice picks! They are doing magic on me!"
"The ladies aren't doing anything Sir," The officer said watching Annabel and Jessica talk to the other officer at the foot of the stairs. "Come on, let's step outside and talk."
"I'm telling you they are using magic on me!"
