Chapter 6: What is Love?

SEULGI'S Story:

After a short lived conversation with Eunkwang, YN walked over to the bag of snacks he brought for Seulgi. At the same time, Eunkwang made his way over to Seulgi as well. "Seulgi, are you ready to go?"

Seulgi didn't look at Eunkwang, and instead focused on YN much to Eunkwang's chagrin. His expression immediately changed from a smile to a frown, but Seulgi didn't notice at all. Moments later, YN walked up to her and handed her the bag of snacks. Although covered by a mask, she knew he was smiling with the expression of his eyes. Seulgi smiled and as she went to accept it, a hand suddenly came between them. She glanced to her side and saw Eunkwang holding out his hand. "They don't allow external snacks at the theatre, so don't waste your time." Eunkwang said assertively. Surprised by Eunkwang's remark, Seulgi glanced at him with eyes that showed daggers. She then quickly looked back at YN wanting to defend him.

YN stood calm however, and kept his composure. He smiled and calmly replied "you're right. How considerate of you." YN then looked at Seulgi and despite Eunkwang's hand in between them, YN moved his face a little closer to Seulgi for eye contact. He smiled and told Seulgi "I guess no pringles for you." She didn't know what came over her, but looking into YN's eyes was just mesmerizing. There were so many things she wanted to say, but the only thing that came out was a muffled "YN..."

"Well it's nice to meet you YN, but I think we gotta get going. You should probably get back to your presenting on stage." Interrupted Eunkwang.

"Very well." YN maintained his eye contact with Seulgi and he softly said "goodbye, Seulgi." YN then started walking away with a bag of snacks in his hand. Yeri and Doyeon saw what happened and quickly ran up to Seulgi, who stood there zoning out.

"Unnie, are you okay? Let's go have fun shall we?" Yeri asked. Coming back to reality, Seulgi took a deep breath and nodded. The four of them started walking the opposite direction of YN, and as they took a few steps, Seulgi looked back at him. He didn't seem too bothered by Eunkwang, and he continued to stroll down the park to his car.

"Hey, sorry for what happened earlier, I had no ill intention but movies don't let you bring snacks." Eunkwang said apologetically to Seulgi.

"You didn't have to be so harsh on him." Seulgi sighed.

"I am sorry. It's just...nevermind." Eunkwang trailed off. "So...pringles huh? Will you forgive me if I get you some?" He offered.

Seulgi chuckled and responded "it's not your fault. I guess I'm just a little off today. Let's just enjoy the movie."

Eunkwang tried to get Seulgi to talk about her problems, but Seulgi never did. He just didn't have that calming vibe she gets from YN to open herself to him. Despite knowing Eunkwang, they are more acquaintances than friends.

At the movies, Eunkwang did buy some popcorn and a few snacks "for the group to share", but it was clear that he bought them for Seulgi. Throughout the movie, Seulgi wasn't really all there. She was worried about YN and how he might be feeling. After all, being undermined for something that you love to do is definitely not a good feeling. YN may hide it well to others, but Seulgi knows YN is probably a little hurt or angry.

[3:45pm]

"Seulgi...?" Eunkwang called. She looked and noticed the credits to the movie already rolling.

"Oh." Seulgi blurted.

After the movie ended, Joy and Crush went on their own to spend the rest of the day. Doyeon had to leave for a schedule later in the evening and left Yeri, Seulgi and Eunkwang together. "You want to go for a walk together?" Eunkwang offered.
