Nathan's POV

I shifted in my seat, the uncomfortable uniform scratching my skin, as well as the leather combat boots making blisters in my feet. How the hell we were already registered in the army, I have no idea. But we landed here, and everybody already knew our names. It was creepy.

"Hey, Sykes, you alright man?" Matthew Malum, apparently a friend of mine, asked. I smiled and nodded.

"Yea, thanks. You?"

"Eh, I'm as okay as I'll ever be. This road is way too bumpy though. I can't wait til... Ahhh," he said as the bus drove over pavement at last. "That's better. I don't think my body could take one more jostle." He grinned as I rolled my eyes and nodded. Then he leaned in.

"Hey, man, since when were you friends with those losers?" he whispered, motioning to Tom, Max, Jay, and Siva. I raised my eyebrows.

"They're not losers, Matt. And I've been friends with them for a few years now, er... before I entered the Army." He raised his eyebrows, obviously not believing me.

"I was your friend since middle school, man, and I've never seen these dudes." I raised my eyebrows, panicking, but luckily General Williams shouted something.

"LISTEN UP LADIES! WE'RE AT THE AIRPORT! GET OFF OF YOUR LAZY ASSES AND GET IN IF YOU WANNA SEE YOUR FAMILIES AGAIN! REMEMBER, THE MAFIA MIGHT BE IN THERE, SO.....CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!"

My friends bolted up as Williams shouted, since they were all sleeping. They banged their heads and groaned. Matt and I snickered, stood, then stretched before walking off of the bus. I waited for the lads. Five seconds later, they all appeared, grumbling and rubbing their eyes.

"You have got to be kidding me. We just finished touring, and now we're in the army!? And we have to get on another plane!?" Matt raised his eyebrows as I elbowed Tom. Tom clamped his hands over his mouth and his eyes widened.

"You're going mental, mate," I muttered. The other lads shook their heads and glanced worriedly at Matt, who looked suspicious already. We entered the airport, and it was absolute chaos. The female portion of the army was already there.

But so was this mafia Williams was talking about. Guns were firing, civilians were huddling for cover or being shepherded away, blood was spilling, and people were falling. The male portion ran in to help.

Matt disappeared as the rest of the lads and I ran in to fight, yelling and waving around wildly the guns that someone had thrown us. Tom whacked a man, who was in the army, with the butt of his gun. "SORRY!" he shouted before running off again.

"SHIT!" Max exclaimed as he was shot in the leg. I began to fire for the sake of protecting myself and my mates. Soon, however, Jay and Tom were down too. Blood was pouring out of their wounds too fast for my liking. I turned to keep fighting and saw a knife barreling towards me. I screamed as it grazed my arm. Siva narrowed his eyes and shot whoever had thrown the knife at me. Whoever it was, Siva had seen them, since he was so tall. His height really gave him an advantage. However, it also made him an easy target, causing someone to shoot him square in the chest. He, too, fell. Hard.

I examined the rest of the army while attempting to shoot any enemies from the ground. I managed to hit a few legs, but that was it. There were three girls who were shooting like crazy, but they were hitting every target on the bull's-eye. It was scary as hell. Blood and dirt was streaked across their faces, which, for some reason, made them look super-mega-foxy-awesome-hot. They kept glancing back at two other girls who were struggling with their guns.

"WE'VE WON! THEY'VE RETREATED!" shouted a woman as two of the girls I was looking at shot one paritcularly muscle-y looking member of the mafia square in the chest. Everybody cheered, and the three shooters hugged each other, as well as the other two girls who they had been looking back at. One girl, who looked oddly familiar, looked around at the damage. Seeing that we had been hit pretty hard, she motioned to us and her and her friends headed over with a first-aid kit. I groaned in relief and nudged my friends, pointing to them. Siva, who had fallen from a great height, was unconscious. I grimaced at Seev as the first girl tapped Max on the shoulder lightly.
