The two lovers had finally been reunited and were ready to move onto their next life, hoping that they would find each other once again and live together for a long time.

Achilles couldn't help but ask his lover "What if we do not find each other?"

Patroclus holds his hand and with a smile, he says "I promised to follow you anywhere, I will find you once again, it does not matter what gets in our way." And the two halfs of one single soul walk together, hand in hand into their next life.

It was another normal day for Achilles, except he never really had any normal days. His parents had named him after some kind of greek demigod, he was going to be named Jack, but his parents noticed he looked an awful lot like the demigod Achilles, his father who was a historian, couldn't let this chance go so easily. Achilles had a happy childhood, his mother Teresa was a bit strict some times but she wasn't a bad mom at all, his father Patrick on the other hand, was a lot more relaxed that Teresa. He let Achilles do pretty much anything as long as it was legal, luckily Teresa was always there to intervene if she had to.

Achilles was heading to school and decided to stop by at his favorite coffee shop on his way there, he was 15 at the time but had probably drank more coffee than his parents had in their whole lives combined. He entered the coffee shop and looked around to admire the scenery he had seen so many times before.

Same tables.

Same chairs.

Same lamps.

Same cashi- wait, who is that behind the counter? Is he a new part timer? He looks pretty young, around the same age as Achilles, so he must be a part timer.

Achilles takes a few seconds to analyze this new cashier. Dark brown hair and eyes, ridiculously messy hair that somehow didn't make him look unhygienic or disgusting, skin darker than Achilles' skin tone, big eyes, he was quite tall but slightly shorter than Achilles, skinny arms so he probably didn't have much strength there and finally, his name, it was on his uniform so it wasn't hard to notice it 'Patroclus'.

'This has got to be a joke' Achilles thought to himself as he approached the counter to order the usual: plain black coffee. A new cashier who is named Patroclus working the only shift where Achilles showed up often? This can't be a coincidence.

"Hello, welcome to Stardust, what would you like?" The boy says with a gentle smile on his face

Achilles freezes for just one second before he is able to reply, not exactly sure as to why seeing that Patroclus guy smile had that effect on him "I'll just have black coffee, large"

"Ok! That would be 5 dollars, please" Patroclus says, and smiles once again. After Achilles pays for his drink he goes to prepare it while Achilles is trying his hardest not to shut down once again after seeing him smile so brightly. Patroclus hands over his coffee to Achilles and wishes him a good day, not aware of the effect his words had on the other boy.

'I need to start coming here more often' Achilles thinks, not being able to get that gentle and warm smile out of his head. He had thought love at first sight was bullshit for so long, but now he got it. He makes his way over to school and is greeted with perhaps the worst sight ever. Diana.

"Achilles! There you are!" The girl almost shouts as she grabs Achilles' arm trying to play the role of his girlfriend and failing miserably as he pulls his arm away from her. "What the hell took you so long, anyways? Don't tell me you were flirting with another girl"

Achilles rolls his eyes and replies with  "Leave me alone, Diana. I already told you I don't like you, or any girls for that matter. I'm gay, how many times do I have to say it?"

"You're just saying that because you haven't met the right girl, but don't worry my dear, I'm finally here."

"I seriously don't have the energy to deal with you today" Achilles frees himself from Diana's grip and walks away, leaving the girl alone in the middle of the hall. Diana had always been the definition of pain in the ass. She had the biggest crush on Achilles which would be quite flattering if she wasn't bothering him all the time, saying how he just needed to meet the right girl and he would regret it later on. Achilles never had the energy to deal with her today, but today he was in a pretty ok mood so he tried extra hard to sound not so rude.

He makes his way to class and only pretends to pay attention. He can't take that smile out of his head. Or his voice, his hands, his eyes, his messy hair and his- 'Stop this, Achilles. Control yourself' He thought to himself.

Achilles somehow makes it through the whole day without anyone noticing he didn't really listen to the teacher. He burst through the school's front gate before Diana even has the chance to find him and goes to the coffee shop again, half expecting to see this Patroclus guy there, he isn't there though, so Achilles just makes his way back home.

Patroclus was lucky to have been able to get into a school that gave some students classes during the afternoons. Patroclus was one of those few students, having to work during the mornings at a coffee shop so he could move out as soon as possible. He didn't hate his parents, he just didn't love them the way a son is supposed to, his mother Lizbeth was always busy as well as his father Rupert, and when they weren't too busy for him, his mother would spend most of their time together on the phone while his dad would do nothing but criticize him.

He had been thinking about that guy from the coffee shop since that morning. His name was Achilles, pretty difficult to forget, as his name was the name of the "Aristos Achaion", the name Achilles was recognized all over the world, as well as the name of his lost lover, Patroclus. At first he had thought Achilles was just joking when he said that was his name, but he looked too serious to be kidding.

'What are the chances of something like that happening? Someone called Achilles meeting someone called Patroclus in a coffe shop?' Patroclus had heard of them, just like everyone else. After his classmates found out where his name came from, they wouldn't stop mocking him and calling him slurs. The worst part of all of this was that they weren't completely wrong. Patroclus was bi and when he came out to his closest friend, Britney, someone must've overheard since word got around before the bell rang. This just brought more and more unwanted attention towards him.

It no longer mattered to him, he had gotten used to it which was kind of sad but, was the truth.

Britney moved her hand up and down in front of Patroclus' face "Heyyy, dude, Pat you there?"

Patroclus blinked as he came back to reality "Sorry Brit, did you say anything important?"

"Nah, I was just trying to tell you the bell rang like half an hour ago, just what is on your mind to keep you from hearing the bell?"

"Sorry, something very... well, unusual happened to me at work today"

"You have to tell me now!" Patroclus regreted everything he had said. But he was forced to tell Brit what happened.

After a while of chatting with his best friend, Patroclus walked back home, and did the same boring stuff he always did. Eat, do homework, get changed into his pjs and go to sleep. Except he had a difficult time sleeping, he was thinking about the guy he had seen earlier that day. Long, blonde hair, beautiful green eyes with sprinkles of gold, pale skin that looked soft to the touch... he was definitely worthy of the name he had been given. Patroclus eventually fell asleep think about him, his name and the tragic love story between Achilles and Patroclus (you know, the ones in history books), Patroclus hoped to see him again the next day.

Hey, writer here. Just to clear up some things
Diana is the reincarnation of Deidamia and Britney is the reincarnation of Briseis.
Also, this is the first fanfic I'm writing and I'm mostly doing it for self comfort since I rlly needed them to be happy together and y'know, alive. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the first chapter.
