Two weeks has now passed. Karma was at the supermarket alone, while Gakushū was at the school. They had agreed that Karma could go outside with Gakushū's credit card and buy the ingredients for the day's meals.

"Maybe we could have Japanese curry for dinner tonight" Karma thought as he picked up a box of pre made curry. It’s a good starting point to get Gakushū to eat more vegetables. Karma shuddered as he remembered his lover had lived off of take outs and junk food for years.

Well not anymore! Karma will make sure his Gakushū will be eating healthy food from now on, so he can live a long and healthy life with Karma.

The red head was carrying large bags of groceries towards Gakushū and his apartment when he heard soft mews in an alley. He looked into the dark alleyway.

It was an injured cat. Dirt covered the cat's fur and its paw was obviously broken.

Karma gasped and knelt down to pet the cat. "Poor thing" he whispered. He picked up the cat and raised it to eye level. "You're hurt, alone, and hungry..." Such a poor little creature, and yet, it was striving to survive.

Karma felt a connection to the poor cat. "I'm taking you home with me" he decided, tucking the cat under his arm and continued his way back home.

The cat purred and cuddled against him.

"Karma! I'm home!" Gakushū called as he entered the apartment. His precious boyfriend was sitting in the living room looking almost nervous. "Welcome home" he greeted nervously, smiling awkwardly.

Gakushū raised a brow. "What are you hiding?"

"What? Me? Hiding? No! I'm not hiding anything....why would you assume I'd be hiding anything?" Karma was quick to deny.

"Meow"

Karma froze. Gakushū's eyes narrowed and he pulled off Karma's oversized sweater, revealing a fluffy orange cat cuddling against him. "I...I found him on my way home. He looked so hungry and weak, I couldn't bring it in myself to abandon him" Karma explained.

Gakushū took one look at the cat, and then at his adorable worried boyfriend. He sighed. "He's cute but, my apartment doesn't allow pets"

Karma's smile fell. "Oh..."

"So we'll move to a new one" Gakushū continued.

Karma cheered up. "Ya hear that Asakaru? You're staying with us!" He raised the cat above his head. Gakushū chuckled, "Asakaru?"

"It's our names combined! Asano, Karma, AsaKaru!" Karma explained. "Because he had orange fur, like your hair--yeah I know it's strawberry blonde but it looks orange when the lights hit it! It depends on the lighting really---and yellow eyes, like mine"

"That's...very adorable" Gakushū sat on the couch beside his beloved cyborg and kissed his cheek.

"I would have gone for Karushuu, Karma, Gakushū, but it somehow just felt unfit for the little baby" Karma raised the cat again and booped it's nose. "And he didn't seem to like it, so Asakaru got stuck"

Gakushū smiled. This has been the happiest he has been in a very long time.

About a month later

The couple sat in an office. They were meeting a realtor to talk about a new potential rental apartment.

"What are your preferences to an apartment?" The realtor asked.

"Spacious, has four rooms, a big kitchen-" Karma listed off.

"Air conditioned, and close to the neighborhood" Gakushū added.

"And pet friendly!" The two of them was quick to add at the last minute. The realtor nodded and typed away at his computer.

"We have two available units for rent with your preferences. Here's the unit plans"

The two of them looked at the two different lay outs, the two units looked similar.

"Are there any communal areas as a bonus?"  The teacher asked.

"There's one with a rooftop space" the realtor said.

Karma and Gakushū looked at each other. "We'll take it" Gakushū said.

Two weeks had passed and finally it was moving day. Karma and Gakushū had to prepare for the movers to bring all of their possessions to the new apartment. They had to clean and box up everything.

The red head was in the living room. He was packing all of the DVDs that Gakushū owned into a cardboard box. He noticed a photo album on one of the book shelves.

Curious, he opened it. It was full of Gakushū's childhood photos.

The cyborg flipped through the pictures. There were dozens of pictures of Gakushū as teenager, kid and baby.

He found family photos of little Gakushū with his parents and a girl he assumed was Gakushū's sister.

"Ashame he outgrew the bubble eyes though" Karma said with a smirk. "He looked so cute"

"What bubble eyes?" Gakushū peeked into the living room. He was putting everything from the kitchen into boxes.

"Shū looked so cute as a kid" Karma gushed. "Look! Baby Shū eating bananas!" He flipped the page. "And kindergarten Gakushū looking grumpy! Haha"

"Let's focus on packing all of the stuff first" Full of embarrassment, Gakushū took away the photo album from Karma. He didn’t want him to know about his awkward teen years. He had braces when he was 12 and nerdy glasses!

After a few hours, everything was packed and ready to be shipped to the new apartment. The movers came on time and started to put all of the boxes into the trunk

"I called us a taxi"  Gakushū called out.

"Asakaru is joining us!" Karma was carrying their new cat in his arms. "We should get him a new cage and cat stuff"

"Of course"  Gakushū hugged Karma close. "Let's go"
